Movie Reviews of Queer as Folk - The Final Season (Collector's Edition)

Movie Review: Final Season for Queer As Folk,
Summary: 5 Stars

Although I was very sad at the way the group split up at the end, the superb acting and the realism of every character made the story line bearable. I loved Queer As Folk. For 6 years we lived through their trials and tribulations and grew to love every one of them as though they were part of our family. Being straight only proves that you don't have to be gay to love this series. It ended sadly for me but that's life. I miss them all more that words can say. Kudos to the writers. This was a truly wonderful adventure for me and my family.

Movie Review: Too bad it's the end
Summary: 5 Stars

QAF is definitely an addictive series ! When you recieve a box set, you tell yourself "I'll watch an episode by day" just to keep it as long as possible. Therefore, you get weak and finish by watching the complete serie non-stop. Well it's the same for the season finale of QAF !! It's truly groundbreaking. As soon as you get deeper in the story, especially the bombing part, you feel part of it all, as if your watching your own life. Every story arc is well written and you see the evolution of each caracter with great maturity, learning and living with their experiences.
I fully recommend to buy this season finale ! Enjoy ;-)

Movie Review: One of the best seasons ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

I really loved this season, I think it's one of the best of the series. I wasn't so thrilled with the last episode but all the others were great, we received some answers to our own personal questions and advices regarding what to expect in a relationship (or what kind of relationship do we want)...

Movie Review: 5th season of queer as folk dvd
Summary: 5 Stars

I enjoyed the dvd of queer as folk the fifth season, the only negative point was cowlip's stupid ending!!!You would think after five seasons they could end the show the way the fans really wanted it to go...but the dvd was great as all my purchases thru amazon have been. hope you'll soon offer the dvds of East Broadway (Social Graces), Rhinoceros Eyes, Mental Hygiene, amd 36K, guess you can tell I'm a Gale Harold fan I'v bought all the ones you have, and they have been wonderful, the quality of your dvds are the best and the prompt service is great.

Movie Review: The Final Season of The Best TV Show ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

Queer as Folk is about a group of gay male friends ( and a lesbian couple) in Pittsburgh and their lives. It addresses every issue gay people face and even if there are a lot of sex scenes, I never found them to be in poor taste or "threatening" in any way. In fact, you get so used to seeing members of the same sex kiss and be romantic that it becomes almost as if you were watching a show about straight people.
The show has many elements, the characters each have their own identities, problems, good sides, and faults and they don't change from one day to the next. Thematically, each season has a main theme which is the main focus of that season and many times I found myself in tears - happy and sad ones. These unique characters almost become a part of your family and when you watch, you feel what they feel and can really relate to their feelings and actions. I am sad it's over but look forward to another series that maybe includes gay, lesbian and straight characters who are all friends and also as multi-faceted as the ones on Queer as Folk. I think audiences are ready for a series in which both worlds mingle and all characters, whether gay or straight are shown as human beings who differ in the gender of the persons they fall in love with but who love the in the same way nonetheless. Queer as Folk has certainly shown us that the love between gays and lesbians is no different and is just as valuable, fragile and deep, than the love between straight people and that they are more like us straight people than we assumed they were different. When the show ended, it ended gracefully and realistically and I will miss Brian and Justin, Michael and Ben, Lindsay and Mel, Emmett, Teddy and the heart of the show, Michael's loving, funny, button wearing, supportive and terribly overlooked by 5 years of award shows, mother,Debbie Novotny, played by the beautiful and talented Sharon Gless.
