Movie Reviews of Quarantine

Movie Review: ONE OF THE BEST ZOMBIE FILMS EVER! 9.25 OUT OF 10
Summary: 5 Stars

If it's one thing I've got to say about many (not all, but most) of the negative reviews of this product, is that most of them come from people have no taste in horror films and they have a very low vocabulary. Many of the one-star reviews for this film consisted of a grand total of three sentences and common complaints among them went like this; "It was boring." "It wasn't scary." "The camera was too shaky." "It wasn't realistic." That's what many of the negative reviews consisted of, with many of them not giving an explanation for why they thought it was so bad. In one review, the person complained about if the camera man was a professional, why did the camera shake so much? I didn't think the camera shook that much, and anyway, I don't think camera crews are trained for zombie attacks. I think this film absolutely fantastic and it does feel real. I believe that this film is indeed one of the best zombie films of the decade.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT: A news crew is doing a documentary on the Los Angeles fire department and for the most part nothing interesting has happened yet, and they're having a good time hanging out with the firemen. Then one day, the department receives a call, so the news crew goes along with them for this call to an apartment complex. When they get inside, they go into an apartment for an elderly old woman, only to find out that she has become a zombie and attacks the firemen. As the firemen desperately try to get out of the apartment complex to get two firemen to the hospital, it gets quarantined and everyone in the complex is sealed in, including the firemen and news crew. So the news crew decides to document what is happening while the people inside the building try to find a way out, and avoid being eaten by the rabies-infected zombies, or shot by the military for trying to escape. This is hectic, frenzied horror film that does deliver the scares.
MUSIC: There is none, sadly.
ACTING: I thought the actors were for the most part convincing, but not all of them were and sometimes the dialogue felt hammed up. It was generally good overall and most of the actors seemed to know what they were doing.
ACTION: This film is done similar to Cloverfield's cam corder footage, so that's what it looks like. This film is pretty much Cloverfield meets 28 Days Later, and it's an absolute blast. This film has plenty of scares and tense moments around every corner, and it's quite violent as well. It is a bloody film with nice gore effects. Unfortunately, there were times in which I felt the characters were a little slow to catch onto the fact that you need to shoot or bludgeon the zombies in the head in order for them to stay dead. Not to mention they were slow to catch onto the fact the disease is spread through bites or bodily fluids getting into cuts and openings. The action scenes were fantastic and well-scripted though, which made up for the characters being dumb.
OVERALL: I'd recommend a buy, definitely. If you haven't seen a good zombie film in awhile, this is a must-have horror film.
THE GOOD: It's scary, it's bloody, the actors were good, it felt real, and I love the cam corder footage.
THE BAD: Starts off slow, no music, some moments of questionable acting.
