Movie Review: A Fantastic Fantasy Western
Summary: 4 Stars
Often when genres combine in unexpected ways the result is less than stellar, but this is not the case with Purgatory. Combining all the drama and bravado of your typical western with a supernatural spin, Purgatory brings together many of the wild west's greatest heroes for one last hurrah. A beautifully imagined and produced piece of cinema highly reminicent of Deadlands: The Weird West, Purgatory is definately worth the price and should be added to any collection.Movie Review: I liked it

I like the story line. The idea of the Indian at the gate was good. Reminds me of Bonanza where Little Joe was in a ghost town of people who had to redeem themselves. In this one redemption isn't Biblically correct, but the chasm to hell sure was enough to convert most anybody. Good job.
I wish Wild Bill and Billy the Kid looked like them, but that's okay. My wife really liked this too. We'll watch it again.

Purgatory is a very good combination of the classic western with a splash of horror that separates this movie from other westerns. There was just enough action and intrigue to make the movie hold our interest. We recommend it to anyone who likes westerns but has aleady seen Randolf, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood time and time again.Movie Review: The Hero's Journey.

This is a great little story. I wish I'd thought of it. Everything I want to say about this will destroy the enjoyment of the ending. I'm just another person who greatly enjoyed this movie. I'd call it a supernatural western, and a very good one. Good performances. You care about the characters. The plot sucks you in and you and really ride along. Good twists and mystery until the end.
