Pulse: A Stomp Odyssey works along the premise that music--and more accurately, rhythm--is the global language. To that end, the Stomp team has done a fantastic job of collecting and filming cultural rhythms from around the globe. For those expecting something along the lines of Stomp's live performances such as the ones showcased in Stomp Out Loud, prepare to be disappointed. But for those looking for a creative and fantastic journey of discovery, Pulse delivers in spades.Movie Review: WOW!!!

I didn't want to leave the theater when I originally saw this film. Any musician, especially music teachers, will appreciate the multiculturalism that "Pulse" displays. (My students beg to watch this movie when I have a substitute.) "Pulse" is a great way to expose yourself and others to the vast variety of music that exists in our world. I saw STOMP, live, about 10 years ago and thats when i fell in love with them. Then this past year i saw Pulse. I sat there in the theater in awe....chills running up and down my body.... When the movie ended and i managed to pry myself from the chair I let out a great sigh. It was amazing! It was well done and the music had my feet taping to the beat the whole time.Movie Review: Lots of Fun

This is a fun DVD. If you enjoy Stomp, they have some great moments. But more entertaining is the journey around the world, listening to various types of song and dance, from the American Southwest, to South Africa, to India, Japan, and more. Loved "Stomp Out Loud" and this is an excellent example of where they got a lot of their ideas. Anyone who likes to glimpse other cultures and the music thereof will enjoy the groups presented and the additional Stomp clips. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire "Odyssey." Waiting for more :)
