Movie Review: Great Action Movie
Summary: 5 Stars
I would recommend this movie to anyone who has an interest in south america, especially the kidnapping/drug issues which engulf some south american nations. The director modeled the movie after realistic situations that happen daily but americans pay no mind to. This is phenomenal movie filled with beautiful scenery and a great story. The only downside is the romantic story line between crowe and ryan which takes away from the film's main objectives. Although i generally consider myself to be more of a romantic comedy girl, i was not disappointed after seeing Proof of Life. Gripping from the beginning till the end, it generally had me excited and nervous all the way through. The gorgeous back drop of mountainous Ecuador enhanced the film so much i am planning to go there sometime next year. Great performances from the three leads that portray exactly what most would feel like in that situation. Overall, i loved it to bits and i thoroughly recommend it.Movie Review: Proof of life, true to life.

At last a movie that is not affraid of being too real or too 'hollywood-ized', and as a result is as entertaining and on-the-edge-of-your-seat-without-realising-it as is possible. From the slow pace of the film during the negotiating, that helps to add to the atmosphere of frustration among the cast, to the bullet thumping, down towning realism of the rescue at the end. Meg Ryan again proves to be more than a comic actress. Russell Crowe and the supporting cast, Caruso and Morse are also excellent. This movie is exciting, well acted, and has beautiful scenery. GREAT movie and VERY underrated. Truly makes you think. Russell and Meg are fantastic, and David Morse turns in a great performance as well. Absolutely fell in love with the Russell Crowe characterization of Terry Thorne - noble, compassionate, and torn by his feelings for a client.Do yourself a favor and check it out!
