Movie Reviews of Promises

Movie Review: Great Documentary
Summary: 5 Stars

This is probably the saddest and greatest documentary that I have ever seen. I was in the area in the Summer of 2000, just before the present long string of violence really began. It really hit home to see what the children were going through. It was truly amazing to see that the children had such an adult awareness of their surroundings. The documentary will give anyone another totally new perspective on the conflict.

Movie Review: Highly Effective
Summary: 5 Stars

B.Z., Thankyou for a wonderful film. Your attempt to bring understanding to the public about complexities children in the MEast face was amazing. Yet the kids themselves carried the film so well. Please keep it going. Theirs more to be done. Support for your next work should be no problem. I will promote this film to others. Many thanks to you, your group and the kids in this film. May your truth prevail.

Movie Review: Promises
Summary: 5 Stars

A EXCELLENT and really POWERFUL documentary film. It includes in-depth depictions and HONEST voices of both Palestinian and Israeli children. Each child's happiness, sorrow, pride, pain, hate, and innocence... went through my mind, heart, and body as I watched this.

I'd recommend this film to ANYONE who seeks a better understanding of humanity and a possibility for peace.

Movie Review: Promises: a great teaching tool
Summary: 5 Stars

I teach social studies to seventh graders in Massachusetts. This movie is a great way to teach about the conflict in Israel. Although it is getting a bit dated (1997-2000). It does a great job of showing the conflict through the eyes of 7 children. Despite the sub-titles, my students are attentive and by the end of the movie have a much better understanding of the conflict.

Movie Review: A must see. The only way to understand is through children's eyes.
Summary: 5 Stars

From all conflict movies, this is the most realistic one I know, and it still manages to be a relatively light movie - you will not be depressed after watching it, but you will gain better appreciation to both sides and the 100 perspectives in this conlict
