Movie Reviews of Pride and Prejudice

Movie Review: all time favorite
Summary: 5 Stars

If you're a lover of this story this is a must. My sister actually forced me to watch this one. I fell in love with the story, the movie and the actors. I have all the other Pride and Prejudice movies that have been made recently but I continually come back to this one. It takes some liberties but easily overlooked in my opinion. I had this one on vhs for years but am thrilled to now have in on dvd. An oldy but a goody.

Movie Review: The original version of Pride and Prejudice ...
Summary: 5 Stars

I have the Colin Firth and the Matthew Macfadyen versions of the film, so it seemed only fit that I get the original version. I enjoyed the nostalgia of the Sir Laurence Olivier version, but my favorite is the Colin Firth version. As Meg Ryan stated in the movie, You've Got Mail ... "Don't ya just love that Mr. Darcy."

In answer to your question ... yes, I would buy this film again.

Movie Review: Pride and Prejudice
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this movie. There are so many different versions of Pride and Prejudice out there, and I think each add a different element of what Jane Austen had written. This version is light-hearted and sweet. It doesn't delve into the emotions and background as much as some of the more modern films, but I love the music and overall effect, especially with the black and white. Very classy.

Movie Review: Pride & Prejudice - 1st version of the film (I think)
Summary: 5 Stars

I like this version of Pride & Prejudice just as much as the later one which has Colin Firth in it.

Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier are really great in their roles.

Mr. Bennett is one of my favorite caracters because of the sly comments he slips in from time to time. He seems to say them to get a reaction out of his wife or to get a smile from Lizzy.

Movie Review: Excellent Old Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

If you love Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson, you'll love this movie. Probably the first adaptation on film of Jane Austen's novel, it is a great one. Greer Garson is lovely and Laurence Olivier is handsome. Black and White, yes, but the touch is light and not as intense as newer versions that are more close to Ms. Austen's actual work. Great lighthearted chick flick!
