Movie Review: Pride & Prejudice for a new generation

I have to respectfully disagree with the first reviewer.
While the comparison is inevitable, I fear the wrong conclusion has been drawn. While the 1995 version is groundbreaking, the modern update is breathtaking. The scenery, the costumes, the dialouge, the casting all work cohesively with only another.
Keira Knightly's potrayl of perhaps the most poignant fictional heroine in "romantic" literature is flawless. I like, many other people, was not impressed by Matthew MacFadyen when I saw the preview; however, he was the perfect Fitzwilliam Darcy. Dark, mysterious and brooding in a more love struck fashion than Mr. Firth plays him. (Though, let it be said, I will ALWAYS love Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy).
This film felt more like a continual thought than nthe 1995 version which, after all, is meant as a mini series. I loved every minute of it, and have seen it in the theater 3 times. As a lover of Jane Austen and the beauty of Pride & Prejudice this is a must own film.
