Movie Reviews of Pride and Glory

Movie Review: What more can i ask for ?
Summary: 4 Stars

With a polcie / Cop drama starring Edward Norton, Collin Ferrel and Jon voight, there is nothing else for me to ask for, i mean i really am a big fan of police dramas, i enjoy almost all of them which might make my review a bit biased, but checking out those other reviews made by other Amazon users, i can tell most people enjoyed this movie !!
Here we have another family of cops ( i just love those movies with family of cops or town of cops ) a father and two of his sons, the younger son played by Ed norton who starts to invistigate a shoot out death of other cops, his father ( played by jon voit ) is like a chief of police or Captain who supervises the whole thing, and the whole movie takes us into the world of cops with good vs bad cop issues.
Acting is what you would expect from the likes of Norton, Ferrel and Voit, very well done, a good and intriguing plot and characters, and a bit of action, end up with a very good movie.
So why 4 stars only ?
I just didn't like the ending which i won't write anything about of course, but i would recommend this, as it is a highly enjoyable movie.

Movie Review: Great performances, dumb ending
Summary: 4 Stars

Because of the poor reviews this movie received from critics, I wasn't expecting much, but I rented it anyway because I'm a big Edward Norton fan, and the previews looked interesting. While the corrupt cop premise is nothing new, the film is surprisingly well-made and engaging, with strong performances by Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, Noah Emmerich, and Jon Voight. My only two problems with the film are the over-the-top violence (I know there are bad cops, but are they *that* sadistic?) and the lazy ending, which is a deus ex machina of sorts. Rather than have the good guys take down the bad guys, they're ultimately brought down by a series of contrived circumstances. Even a cliche stand-off would have been better than that.

Bottom line: Despite a lack of originality and a couple other flaws, this is a well-acted cop drama.

Movie Review: Cool movie
Summary: 4 Stars

I agree with the other review in that the story line is nothing out of the ordinary. Typical New York good cop, bad cop storyline. This is why I didn't give it four stars but I have to give a lot of credit to the actors especially Collin Farrell. He is brilliant in this movie. I have to say, he nailed his performance to the tee. So the story goes: A family of cops, the dad (Jon Voight (Francis Sr.), his two sons (Edward Norton (Ray),Noah Emmerich (Francis Jr.) and their brother in law (Collin Farrell (Jimmy). They were all after this drug dealer who killed four other cops. Ray was thrown in this wild goose chase only to find out that Jimmy was somehow involved. So Jimmy somehow framed Ray (can't spoil the movie too much), they were in this battle of Ray's words against Jimmy. The ending could've been better but overall, it is a pretty good movie. Worth watching on DVD.

Movie Review: Good cast, good story, but slow pacing.
Summary: 4 Stars

This film maybe cliched, but it's very well done. However, the language is rather persistant, and the violence is rather intense. The good cop/bad cop storyline has been done before, and I've seen it, but not quite like this.
Because of this film, I have newfound respect for Edward Norton-I never hated him, but here he's very good, Jon Voight once again does a very nice job, but Colin Farrell is a little too easy to hate-esp. with what he does to a foreign family. Very little about this film is predictable, however it doesn't take long to realize the plot involves corruption w/in the police force. I wanted to write a review for this film when I first saw it in theatres, but until now, I wasn't sure what to write. It's well worth renting, possibly owning as well, although it's not for all tastes.

Movie Review: Very Boring
Summary: 4 Stars

I like the story. Good cops mix with bad cops. The story is easy to understand and it is very engaging. But the movie itself is boring. The first half is very slow. The second half picks up the pace a whole lot better.

The dvd is a double sided disc. One side is the wide screen version. The other side is the 4:3 version. There is not any extra in the DVD. It is just the movie.

The story is good but the movie is very boring to watch. Make should you have a big cup of coffee to go with this movie.
