Movie Reviews of Priceless [Blu-ray]Movie Review: Refreshingly fun romantic comedy Summary: 5 Stars
As an American who lived in France for two years (and dislikes a lot of french films), I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this movie. I'm not much of a romantic comedy kind of guy as I think most american films on the issue are cheesy, cliched and stale. Initially I wanted to see this film because I love Audrey Tatou (Amelie was a phenomenal film). I was pleasantly surprised that the plot to this film was nothing like the irritating romantic comedies of the US. A different kind of love story, and refreshingly funny too, this film will have you smiling from ear to ear from beginning to end! Highly recommend it!
Movie Review: My Wife Loved It, So That's All That Counts Summary: 5 Stars
I got this because my wife loved the actress in Amelie, and because it's supposed to have a good blu-ray transfer. Now, this movie is no Amelie. It doesn't have that kind of magic. This is more of a generic chick flick. But you never know about movies like this because of the "French-factor." Well, don't worry. This one's safe. The chick in the flick gets her happy ending, and video quality is pleasing to the balls. And it even has one moment of absolute greatness, genuine comedic genius, that's so funny that it's worth watching the entire movie just for that one moment.
Movie Review: Utterly charming, highly recommended Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this movie, which is extremely well produced and photographed in the Euro playgrounds of Monte Carlo. Audrey Tatou is adorable as an amoral high class escort, but even better is Gad Elmaleh, a popular French - Moroccan comedian and a master of the small gesture, the subtle expression. As other reviewers have noted, their relationship lacks chemistry - but this is a light-hearted romantic comedy, not a passionate drama. Very well done and much fun.
Movie Review: Tautou Summary: 5 Stars
Again a French language film, so most folks have to read the subtitles, but it is very light and entertaining, so you can get away with ignoring most subtitles, too bad the French filmmakers make no effort to dub their movies in English
