Movie Review: Package Deal

I have read many reviews on Predator and The Terminator BluRay disc. Everyone complains about the picture quality of both films, expecting more than they should from these movies. I remember seeing these films for the first time in theaters and the grain of the picture which seems to be the most complained part of the dvds. These movies were grainy in their original theatrical run, whether it was a technical problem with the filming of these movies or added by the studio for some kind of mood setting, who knows. Either way, they are better in color and sharpness on Blu Ray than standard dvd. Believe me, I have a 12 foot projection screen and use a high definition projector and Blu Ray player, so I do see the difference. If you are looking for a bargain, go to your local Walmart and pickup the 2 dvd Blu Ray pack of Predator and The Terminator for $20.Movie Review: Predator on Blu-Ray

I'm so impressed with the quality of the presentation of this film (which I've seen 1000 times on other formats) that I didn't even notice the lack of extras until someone mentioned it. I watched it on my PS3 via HDMI, hooked to a 47 Phillips LCD HDTV 120hz. The picture quality was excellent. Those people who claim it looked like the regular DVD need a new HDTV, or an eye exam. In my opinion the picture quality was better than T2, Die Hard 2, and Total Recall (I'm referring only to the blu-ray format of these movies).Movie Review: He had me at "Vhat du ve gotta du?"

What can I say? I saw it for the first time in a theater when I was 13 years old. I loved this movie so much then, that the following week I was at the same theater to see "The Untouchables", but I left that show to go watch "Predator" again.
The quality of the video is not great, because of the grainy film. Despite that, I believe anyone watching this on a 720P (or higher) HDTV will find this experience reminiscent of the theater experience from the late 1980s.
Movie Review: Arnold is something else
Summary: 4 Stars
Made when Arnold still had a great deal of muscle to spare. This movie, like a lot of science fiction, assumes aliens will be a hostile group. Those races that make it to space would have the intelligence and capacity to engage new races more amicably than depicted. How else would such a race even reach the level of achieving the ability to travel in space unless they had learned to live in peace. Otherwise they would not have lasted long enough to do so.

I find that movies not recorded in bluray in the theater tend not to look as good as movies made in the bluray format from the beginning,not a big difference between dvd's and a dvd re-recorded in the bluray format. that's just my opinion.
