Movie Reviews of Practical Magic (Snap Case Packaging)Movie Review: My all-time favorite movie! Summary: 5 Stars
I first saw this movie on February 26, 1999 (see, I remember the exact date, that's how much I love this movie), and have been a fierce admirer and advocate of it ever since. I have always been interested in witches and the craft (albeit in a harmless, Halloween-like way),and this movie appealed to my magic-loving side. The story is engaging, uplifting, and (duh!) magical, and Bullock and Kidman (as two magically gifted sisters) and Weist and Channing (as their equally gifted aunts) are spell-binding. The beautiful scenery, charmingly gorgeous house, and Aidan Quinn's sexy sheriff role don't hurt either. If you're looking for a fun, uplifting, heart-warming, and witchy love story, this is your movie. I love it!
Movie Review: Sisters. Witches. Heartbreakers. Summary: 5 Stars
Being a witch, myself, I found Practical Magic very entertaining, wich you would love to see as a family, over, and over, again! Sandra Bullock, and Nicole Kidman, light up the screen as they play two witch sisters with a family curse. Their two Aunts, Aunt Francis(Stockard) and Aunt Jeti(Weist) like to meddle into people's love lives, while Gillian(Kidman), the heartbreaker, and Sally(Bullock) being the bookworm. After Gillian's ex boyfriend dissappears, cop Gary Hallet (Adian Quinn) comes to investagate, but also coming with a pleasant surprise. Giving you chills, tears, and heart-warming adventure, this is definitaly a brew of a movie!
Movie Review: There's a little witch in all of us, as Aunt Jet would say Summary: 5 Stars
This is such a beautifully, well-written movie. You really believe Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are sisters, and descendants of witches at that. I fell in love with their home (which by the way was not a real Victorian home but a shell). Trying to replicate the home on the Sims2Exchange but without decent blueprints, you need a wee bit of magic to create it. After viewing on TV, I had to buy the DVD. It's romantic but not mushy romantic. Any movie with Sandra Bullock in it is worth watching. She is such a versatile actress. So gather your love ones around you and prepare to be enchanted in a practical magic sort of way.
Movie Review: Shows the Positive Aspects of The Craft Summary: 5 Stars
Practical Magic is an underrated neo-classic, and should be in every witch's movie collection. With strong female characters like Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Aunt Frances (Stockard Channing), to name a few, it shows positive aspects of The Craft, especially when Sally tells Gary Hallet (Aidan Quinn) that "there is no devil in the craft." Although the magic in the movie is pure Hollywood (except for the herb gardens and celebrations, of course), it is definitely the best portrayal of witches out there in Tinseltown. It is one of my favorite movies ever, and I'm sure it'll become a classic for you, too.
Movie Review: Practical Magic lots of fun! Summary: 5 Stars
If you are looking for a romance wrapped in a little mystery and magic then Practical Magic is for you.
Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kiiddman, Dianne Weist, and Stockard Channing deliver a fast moving whirlwind of magical happenings while Aidan Quinn tries to figure out what happened to a diabolical character from Arizona as the roses go crazy in the garden. In the end, a generational curse is lifted, a case is solved, and love rains witches from an ancestral rooftop on Halloween. If you are looking for some lighthearted fun with your homemade popcorn, this is a great choice!
