Movie Review: small review of Porcupine Tree DVD Arriving somewhere...
Summary: 5 Stars
Most any musician / songwriters will appreciate this. A few hard rock/ heavy metal songs, A few folky/acoustic songs, a few sad/ballads, a few 'spacey'/symphonic pink floyd songs. AMAZING musicians on stage and shot very well with many different camera angles / colours and textures.
Any drummer will appreciate the intense thought and drive of Gavin Harrison. And alike for the other musicians. The audience are 'rocking' with the music during heavier songs, and mezmorized/locked in w/the music during the 'mind pulling' songs.
I am careful as to the dvd's that I purchase as I am not the wealthy type and I do not watch many over and over and over- but this one is highly worth it. All great songs, and bonus extras on the 2nd dvd.

The best band I've heard in the last ten years, easily. What everyone else has said about this DVD is true. It captures the very heart of their live shows. I saw them tonight at Berklee in Boston, and had the luck of seeing and meeting them at their exclusive in-store performance at Newbury Comics two hours before the big show. Steve and Jon were great at that, and the real show was amazing as well...although i really did like the intimate setting of a small music store better. Newbury made this DVD available a week in advance, so I just picked it up and its nothing short of the best concert DVD i've ever seen. I've got the numbered limited edition coming in, but i just couldnt wait. Buy this now and experience the most creative band I've ever heard.Movie Review: Newbie Porcupine Tree fan Addicted...

If you already like Porcupine Tree, you are going to love this dvd. If you never heard of Porcupine Tree and want to get a balanced idea of what they are about, this dvd is perfect for that. I had no idea who this band was, but kept hearing how brilliant they were. Well, I was not disappointed at all. I loved this dvd and watched it 4 times the first 24 hours I had it! These guys are amazing musicians! If you like Rush, King's X, Marillion, or Dream Theater, you will probably like Porcupine Tree. The dvd is a concert with beautiful colored lights and nice, even moving shots. I really really enjoed this dvd and I am so glad that I can watch this concert any time I want! I was almost afraid to watch this. By some miracle, I was introduced to the music of Porcupine Tree just a couple of years ago. In Absentia was my first experience, and I fell in love with the music. For some reason, the music of PT touches me deeply and is like a salve for the soul. So, I was afraid to see the DVD, because, other bands that I really liked alot, lost the mystique, or something, when I saw them. But, not this band! Matter of fact, I'm even more taken with them. And that Steve Wilson is a hottie... I highly recommended for all fans of PT. As for anyone who's never experienced PT, well... You will either connect or you won't. Porcupine Tree rock hard and sound just as great live as they do on disc. The jams are amazing and take me back to the days of Pink Floyd, Rush, Yes, and all the other greats in the classic rock genre they're so obviously influenced by. I've said before how much I hope how one day rock'n'roll will become mainstream again where countless bands will be dominating radio stations and selling records as they put forth their style and message to influence a generation, and when that happens, I can't think of a better band than Porcupine Tree to receive credit as a band who always had the vision to keep rock music valued and appreciated. Watch this concert and you'll see what I mean.
