Movie Review: Pollyanna

I saw this movie version on PBS and had never really been a fan of the previous Polyanna movie versions, but this one was so wonderful, I had to purchase it. The actors and characters make the story so meaningful and this is my favorite version. The little girl that plays Polyanna in this movie fits the character so well. I saw this movie many years ago on my local PBS station and I've been meaning to buy it for some time. I finally did just in time to enjoy it again as a Thanksgiving Day treat. It did not disappoint and was even better the second time around. The Disney vision of this story still has it's charm but nothing really can compare to how this movie touches your heart. A winner for anyone who enjoys heart warming English tales.Movie Review: Superb

I watched this version of Pollyanna years after I had seen the Disney version, and was pleasantly surprised at how close it came to the book. Georgina Terry is exceptional, and leaves one wishing there were more to see. She absolutely owns the role, and you can't help but love her and all her gladness.
Is it just me, or does anybody else think she would make a wonderful Anne of Green Gables?

I purchased this DVD as a gift for my grandchildren. They loved it as much as I did.
I'm a Haley Mills fan and I usually prefer the original movie which I saw as a child. However, this version is far superior to the Disney Pollyanna. It is charming.
If you like "British flicks", you will like this version.

I am a big fan of the Haley Mills' version and so I watched this movie with some trepidation. I was happily surprised. The actress playing Pollyanna is adorable, believable and the story has a wonderful, more satisfying ending.
Loved it!!
