Movie Reviews of Pokemon - Seaside Pikachu! (Vol. 6)

Movie Review: Without a doubt the BEST Pokemon episodes EVER!
Summary: 5 Stars

Seriously, these are classic. I love all three; they're all very exciting and funny. And I like how Team Rocket and the "heroes" teamed up to get out of the ship (although I do have one qualm- Misty should have lent Jessie and James a water Pokemon when they were escaping the ship). The second episode is lots of fun- you can finally tell what the Pokemon are saying! (The Pokemon talk as normal but they have subtitles) The best part in that episode, IMO, is when Team Rocket and the "heroes" are in the roller caster. Scary for them fun for us!

Tentacool and Tentacruel is also a great episode. Nastina is just so hilariously evil and her voice matches her personality perfectly. Misty was great in this episode; she showed her softer side. And you know what's really great about these episodes? They'r not all about Ash! Seriously, all the Advanced (*shudder*) and the Johto seasons talk about is Ash for the most part- I mean that boy has done more than most (wait he saved the world- all) old people have done! All the movies are centered around him and his gret accomplishments. Personally I think he's lucky about 75% of the time. And I think it would be really cool to see a NEW trainer compete in the Pokemon League instead it being the oh-so-talented Ash competing in every single league there is. Or maybe they should have him still winning the badges and stuff but have another trainer along with him winning them as well.

Uhhh . . . got a little sidetracked there. Do NOT get me started on how embarassingly horrible Pokemon Advanced is. The games are great but the show . . . not so much.

Anyway, these episodes are classic (and for those of you who don't know, Tentacool and Tentacruel is a lost episode . . . it was banned for awhile because the big Tentacruel crashing the towers reminded Americans too much of Sept. 11. At least that's what I heard. Btw that was AFTER this episode premiered so much of us had already seen it). It's just too bad that more of the Pokemon Advanced episodes aren't as good.

Summary of Pokemon - Seaside Pikachu! (Vol. 6)

Capsized! Pikachu, Ash and their friends are trapped in the upside-down St. Anne! How will they escape?! Next, Pikachu and the other Pokemon get stranded on a desert island, separated from their trainers, and surrounded by dinosaur-sized Pokemon. Finally, Nastina teams up with Team Rocket in a dirty land development scheme! Can Ash and his friends stop Team Rocket as well as a rampaging Tentacruel!? Episodes: Pokemon Shipwreck, Island of the Giant Pokemon, Tentacool & Tentacruel
The continuing adventures of Pok?mon pick up after the cliffhanger ending of Thunder Lizard as Ash, Misty, Brock, and Team Rocket are trapped aboard a sinking ocean liner. ? la The Poseidon Adventure, they look to escape the upside-down ship with plenty of Pok?-action along the way. After making it (was there a doubt?), the three heroes search for their lost Pok?mon but find something else: Giant Pok?mon! Finally, we find the not-so-subtle differences between the Pok?mon Tentacool and Tentacruel. The final segment has more gunplay than most episodes, but the real challenge for parents will be the middle episode, which has five minutes of subtitled scenes in which the Pok?mon talk to each other. Parents of nonreaders will certainly be brought in to translate for eager young souls anxious to know what Pok?mon say to each other. Followed by Psychic Surprise. --Doug Thomas
