Movie Review: Winning Your Heart
Summary: 5 Stars
Playing By Heart is an amazing film with an incredible ensemble cast. The viewer is allowed to delve into the lives and relationships of eight different characters who appear to be completely separate of each other in the beginning. By the end of the movie we see the pieces start to connect just in time to create a perfect ending. This is a touching film about love in our day and age--everyone can relate to at least one of the story-lines. The highlight of the film is Angelina Jolie (who is always brilliant) as Joan. This movie is a must see for anybody who wishes to find love in the future or is in love now. It's about five couples who all have many things in common, but the main one is love, love for their mates. The best couple was Ryan Phillippe and Angelina Jolie! Ryan Phillippe, is so cute! Especially with Blue hair! This excellent ensemble of actors, really makes this the excellent movie it is! It was written so perfectly, the way all of these couples tie in together is phenomenal! This movie held so much emotion for me. It was done in a very real perspective and encouraged lost emotions of my own to surface. I was captivated by the screen and by the incredible preformances of the wide variety of supremely talented actors. The movie was held together for me by the truly raw relationship between Angelina Jolie and Ryan Phillipe. I cried for 800 reasons into many hours after the movie was over and I felt refreshed and alive. Extremely well done. .....and the screenplay is wonderful as are the actors. There are no fancy camera-angles or MTV editing of high speed(compared to Moulin Rouge and William Shakespeare`s Romeo+Juliet - classics in their own right), but the camera let the protagonists do their jobs and they do it admirably... Not that every character is of importance; I prefer Connery, Rowlands, Jolie and Philippe; but we all have our favorites... It`s a movie that few people would find dull, boring or just bad.... It`s a low-key masterpiece:-)
