Movie Reviews of Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End (Widescreen Edition)

Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean- At Worlds End
Summary: 4 Stars

Was a great movie, lots of action. Dark and lots of fantasy in the movie that was very entertaining. When you watch the first two, the third sums up all the effort. Worth buying, hope they do another. Loved the way it ended, very surprising indeed. Don't miss it.

Movie Review: Odd ending to a great trilogy
Summary: 3 Stars

While the first movie remains the best, this one has some great moments, but a bit of a downer ending, that I won't spoil.

Movie Review: Not A Pirate's Life For Me
Summary: 3 Stars

To sum it up, not as good as the first but better than the second. We all know sequels are hard to pull off but my absolute distaste for the second film (although it is better the second time you watch it) really had me on the fence regarding my expectations for the third. While I would ultimately recommend this movie and say it was enjoyable, with beautiful scenery and non-stop action, the acting was a bit lack-luster and the plot struggled. I thought the multiple Captain Jack's were odd and very unnecessary addition to the plot; Elizabeth Swan was overzealous in her attempt to be more pirate-like which actually came off more pitiful than encouraging; and the Calypto plot-line was rather abrupt and underdeveloped (it seemed to serve only as the unmotivational-motivation to bring about a resolution-like ending). In fact, it was the less main stage and smaller characters that really shined in this film (Capt. Barbossa, James Norrington, Pintel, Ragetti, Gibbs, Murtogg, Mullroy, and even the monkey and parrot).

Movie Review: Why The World wasn't the only thing ended....
Summary: 1 Stars

There are several reasons why this movie is not a classic or block buster.
The second movie, perhaps even lower than this one, left off when Jack Sparrow was eaten and killed by the Kraken and everyone else ran away. In this movie, they return to save him from the Dead World. Of course, the movie would have been much better without him, maybe it wouldn't have become a movie at all, which would have been great.
There are way to many characters, which make it confusing.
they introduce this East India trading company, which has nothing to do with the plot or Barbossa. Speaking of Barbossa, who brought him back to the living world? No one explains this. And how come Elizabeth Swann suddenly becomes friends with Barbossa? And why does anyone need Calypso's help? She does nothing!
The ending is not practical at all. When the tentilcy-man dies (I forget his name) and Jack starts to take over the ship, why does he make Will turner stap the heart of Davy Jones? Even if Will Turner died, couldn't they have brought him, BACK to the living world like Barbossa and Jack?
It is a very befuddling movie with no plot line at all and lots of drama that makes me sick.
The only thing I like is Davy Jones. I enjoy his voice!
Sincerely,
Moonwhisker

Movie Review: A good inclusion in the series.
Summary: 4 Stars

A lot of people gave this film a bad review. I don't really understand why. It's a pretty unique film especially for being a third in a series. Look at Spiderman 3, A complete absolutle 360 almost a parody of it's two predecesors. POTC3 was different, It takes a story and evolves it into a realm completely otherworldly. I have read some reviews of the plot being not very beilievable, but Pirates being cursed and running around a ship with nothing but their bones showing is pretty hard to consume as the truth as well. Acting (except for Kiera knightley who is the worst in the whole series) is great. Depp, Rush, Fat, they all do a great job. the story is a little confusing and yes the movie is very long, but a "unique" addition to the series. Not the best and not the worst... If they didn't make it you would all be clamoring for it, the fact is, it's here and it's not that bad, get over it.
