Movie Reviews of Pilates for Weight LossMovie Review: Great Pilates DVD Summary: 5 Stars
There is lots of variety on the DVD. All I did on the beginner section was the instruction section. The routines were not quite challenging enough for me so I moved to intermediate. I'm going to be here for awhile, which is great because I still have the advanced workouts to look forward to. I really like that each level has an instruction section so you can learn how to do the routines and then when you get to the workouts the instructor cues you but there isn't the minutes wasted telling you exactly what to do and demoing it all the way through. It makes it flow well and I feel like I get more of a workout then with other Pilates DVDs I've used.
Movie Review: Fabulous Summary: 5 Stars
I started talking mat Pilates this past summmer and the thing that I love the most was how toned my stomach has gotten. Ive studied up on Pilates and asked my teacher who said its one of the greatest methods to streamlining your body and making your muscles longer. This DVD offers so much variety and on top of that the instrutor is great. Id did some research and she apparently owns a few Pilates studios in the Mid-Atlantic area and is really popular with students. The instruction is easy to follow and she offers up variations for poses/exercises that may not come easy to students at first. I'd say you cant go wrong with this DVD.
Movie Review: Great after some experience with pilates Summary: 5 Stars
After using Pilates for Inflexible People for a year, I tried this video out and it's been a welcome addition to my workout routine. Karen Garcia takes the Maggie Rhoades lessons to the next level- the open leg rocker and leg series are much more challenging at this level. It seems to me the beginner routines are somewhat basic, the intermediate routines are very challenging and are great for building strength. The advanced lessons are really advanced and you need to be incredibly flexible to do them. Nonetheless, this is a great workout that will challenge you and make you a true intermediate pilates student.
Movie Review: A great program! Summary: 5 Stars
I don't really need to lose weight, but I do need to tone up and improve my flexibility. I've had some injuries that prevent me from doing weights. My physical therapist has been working in some pilates excercises into program and he recommended this title. I'm going between the beginner and intermediate workouts, depending on how I feel. The pace of the workouts is perfect. There's a nice flow, you take the time to focus on each exercise and the instructor gives you breathing cues too, which can really make the difference in Pilates. This is a great program that I will continue to use for quite awhile.
Movie Review: Good DVD to learn with Summary: 5 Stars
This is a good DVD for anyone who wants to learn Pilates. There's different levels of difficulty and a lesson section for each level that you can do before you get into the routines. You'll get cues in the routines but the details of how to do all the poses is in the lesson.
I'm at the intermediate level. There are routines that do the "arm series with weights" after the mat work. Great for some added arm and back toning.
Pilates workouts probably won't get you sweating but if you do it right then you will see results. It's great for the abs, legs and glutes.
