Movie Reviews of Pilates for Weight LossMovie Review: My first Pilates DVD Summary: 5 Stars
This was the first Pilates DVD I purchased and it was a good choice.
There are 3 levels. The beginner level would be good for anyone who is really out of shape or has very little strength or flexibility. The beginner exercises are very modified. The intermediate level should challenge the average person. There are some routines with warm ups and others that get right into it with the 100. Your choice. There are also some routines that have an arm weight section at the end. Eventually I'll get to the advanced level.
Pilates is about quality not how many reps you do. If you do the lessons first and then in the workouts you really focus on what you're doing you will feel it and you'll see results.
Movie Review: Perfect for the overweight and out of shape Summary: 5 Stars
I'm overweight and very out of shape and wanted to try Pilates. The beginner section is really geared to someone like me who needed to be eased into exercise after many years of doing nothing. I especially love the long, slow, detailed warm ups. To some, doing neck and shoulder rolls, foot stretches, etc., may seem like wasted time, but I can't touch my toes and I can't make it twice around the block at a fast pace, so, I needed to be loosen up and get back in touch with my body. I was really pleased that after about a month of 3x week, I can do all the beginner workouts. I won't be moving on to Intermediate for a few more weeks, but I am starting to feel the benefits of Pilates and it's really helping me in my daily activity.
Movie Review: Love It Summary: 5 Stars
I enjoy the workouts in this program so much that I even take it with me when I travel. The beginner level is great for those new to working out or just new to Pilates to get familiar with the exercise. I've been doing the Intermediate level for about a year and I occasionally challenge myself with the harder level, but the intermediate routines are still providing benefits. The instruction is clear and well thought out. The "arm weight series" sections included in some of the routines have been as effective for me as my old standard upper body weight workouts. If you want a Pilates program that won't have you looking for something in a month, and one that isn't a hybrid of pilates based whatever, this is a perfect choice.
Movie Review: Great DVD!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I had about 10 pounds of stubborn fat to burn shortly after the start of the holidays, especially around the abdominal area. Having recently went to a pilates class, I decided to pick up this DVD to see what it had to offer. The variety is amazing. For someone like me who's time often varies during the week, I love the multitude of workouts that can be customized to meet my needs. But whats truly amazing is that nearly all of exercises are centered around abs which is where I wanted to concentrate, not to mention some for other spots like the butt. These rountines along with a strict, discipline diet help me shed almost 10 pounds in the first month. Love it and highly recommend*****
Movie Review: Covers You From The Start Summary: 5 Stars
Whether you are a beginner or have some experience with Pilates and need to refresh, then advance, or looking for more workouts, this covers it all from the beginners on.
The beginners sets you up well with instruction that is designed for people who are new to pilates and/or maybe are a bit more out of shape and need to work on pilates at an easier level before it moves onto other levels.
Karen describes the moves and how they are modified for you on each level, or how they are adjusted to make them a bit more difficult or closer to the full moves, and then adds more.
It has three levels, and there is enough to keep you going for quite awhile.
