Movie Reviews of Piglet's Big MovieMovie Review: Sweet and fun Summary: 4 Stars
My nephew is a dinosaur loving, full-tilt running, racecar smashing dynamo. Yet he sat transfixed through this entire movie. That was quite a feat even for such beloved characters as Pooh and his whimsical friends. The story is standard Disney underdog-makes-good fodder. The kind that children love. They can sympathize with Piglet's plight because they know how it is to be small and sometimes overlooked or underestimated. Add to that Disney's beautiful animation and Carly Simon's wonderful score... and you have a family favorite in the making. (Beware: Simon's song "House on Pooh Corner" will be playing in your head for days) This is a great non-violent, gentle movie that will still keep your child's attention. It's a great way to spend "movie night". The DVD has fun interactive features for the kids , as well.
Movie Review: 5 stars for the story,4 stars for the new voices Summary: 4 Stars
Yesterday,My Dad rented the VideoHollywoodStyle version.I like the story but the characters weren't voiced by the original 1960s voicers. But ony 1/9 of the cast has still been there.John Fiedler(1925-) was the guy in the cast who has never left.He started doing the voice of Piglet in The Blustery Day(1968)(the 2nd cartoon in The Many Adventures (1977))and ever since,he never left."cause you know,Piglet wasn't in The HOney Tree (1966).The voices of Tigger,Eeyore,Pooh and Rabbit were the same but voiced by different people. But Owl,Christopher Robin,Kang and Roo were different. I also didn't see the sorcere's apprentice intro before the movie.Instead,I saw a castle intro.I like the sorcerer's apprentice intro better.I hope they use that intro in the next cartoon. But this still is an interesting experience.
Movie Review: Great for any Pooh or Piglet fan.. Summary: 4 Stars
In this latest tale from the 100 Acre Wood, Piglet becomes lost and the gang sets off to find him, using Piglet's scrapbook of memories to find him. In a series of short films, intertwined with the 'lost in the woods' story, the usual crew reminisces about their undying friendship and the adventures they have shared together. This film enforces the idea that you do not have to be big to make a difference (perfect for toddlers), and that friendship is everlasting (perfect for adults as well). My two-year old enjoyed it immensely and I did not find it a trial to sit through either. Carly Simon's wonderful vocals are a plus. Great for any child's DVD collection or any fan of Pooh.
Movie Review: Super Movie ~BUT~ It Does Have It's Flaws!! Summary: 4 Stars
I will first of all start this review by saying that I am NOT a big fan of Winnie The Pooh. I am however a BIG fan of Piglet's which is why I went to the theatre to see this movie. I must say that I was surprised by Pooh's performance in this film. The one main flaw in this film is Christopher Robin. He got on my nerves so bad. His voice is too sweet. Eyore got on my nerves too. Piglet was super in this movie. I felt so sorry for Piglet because no one needed his help. This film has it's good moments and it's bad moments. Now, I am dying to see the Tigger movie. The songs are super. I am dying to get the soundtrack. I am also wanting the video games to this movie.
Movie Review: Piglet is a Big Hit Summary: 4 Stars
This is fun entertainment for both young and old alike. It revisits some of Milne's original stories (even if perfectionists will note that Eyore appears in the story before he's introduced in the book). The music was absolutely wonderful, moving the story very well--can't wait to get the soundtrack. The animation is great and the way each individual story is interwoven with the main story is very skillful. Children will enjoy this film, but it will have a laugh for the "older kids" (adults)too. It seemed to be a bit long for younger children (3-year olds), but held well for the others. The younger ones got wiggly! Can't wait for the video.
