Movie Reviews of Phantom of the Paradise

Movie Review: A classic
Summary: 5 Stars

I saw this movie when I was a teenager, and never forgot it. I bought it now because in the past few years I have wished I could see it again, but it never went on TV. The music is beautiful, the direction is perfect, the story is intriguing. I don`t think it has aged a bit through all these years (maybe it`s for sentimental reasons, but this version of the phantom of the opera is the one I like best..)

Movie Review: Phantom of the Paradise is a Musical tour-de-force!
Summary: 5 Stars

Phantom of the Paradise is a MUST SEE film. It was way ahead of its time musically. I saw the film when it first came out and subsequently met Paul Williams. I was fortunate to speak with him about the film and the score. Paul Williams is an absolutely brilliant musician, and this film is proof. The movie itself is campy, fun, and downright brilliant. Enjoy! Signed - Leslee in Hawaii!

Movie Review: Back to basis
Summary: 5 Stars

It was very nice to get this piece of history.
I remember the first time I saw this clssic film and listened to its original soundtrack. Nice to see Jessica Harper and Paul Williams again.
I went back 30 years in feelings, but with the actual sound and video standards.
Both products (DVD and CD) sound excelent and the viewing is exceptional.

Movie Review: The Portrait of the Phantom Faust Picture Show
Summary: 5 Stars

As good or better than Rocky Horror, Tommy and Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park. The original shock rock opera twists Faust, Phantom OT Opera and Portrait of Dorian Gray into a Glitter Doom Blow-Out of Psycho-Sister proportions. Argento boys take note, Jessica harper won her role in Susperia here. Paul Williams' orgy get-up will freeze your blood. ROCK OUT!

Movie Review: LOVE IT!
Summary: 5 Stars

It is just amazing! If you love Rocky Horror Picture Show, you are obligated to buy this. FYI, the set dresser for this movie would later star in another De Palma film. Her name is Sissy Spacek. It was also the first film to feature Jessica Harper, the brilliant actress/singer who would later appear in other such films as Shock Treatment and Suspiria.
