Movie Reviews of Phantom of the ParadiseMovie Review: Excellent Faust/Phantom of the Opera satire! Summary: 5 Stars
A great and very humorous look at the 70's rock culture while saluting, winking and satirizing the many versions of 'The Phantom of the Opera' and 'Faust.' Great performances by a fairly unknown cast. Paul Williams is great and Jessica Harper is alluring, pure, and a wonderful singer! Gerrit Graham has a great role and does a great job, as does William Finley in a pretty moving part and performance. Brian DePalma had a real winner here just one film before his break-through with 'Carrie.'
Movie Review: One of the best horror "spoofs" ever. Summary: 5 Stars
One of my all time favorite movies. You can watch it again and again and still feel like you're watching it for the first time.I was so pleased to receive this movie. However, you would think they would add at least a few extras. Nope. Nothing. So being such a huge fan of this movie, I ended up ordering a copy of the French release. This one is a two disc set and features tons of extras. Why do the other countries make DVD's so much cooler than us?
Movie Review: Should be a classic Summary: 5 Stars
I'm rather surprised that this film is not more popular. It's just brilliant. Sure, it's a parody of The Phantom of the Opera and a few other films, but it's outcome has this movie worthy of the same cult status as The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Single Disc Edition). Sure, this DVD lacks any bonus features, but it's what, five bucks?
Movie Review: Great Movie, Great Music Summary: 5 Stars
I first watched this movie on a CATV system in Escondido CA USA around 1975 - and loved it then. I bought a new DVD just to update the media because the old tape was getting scratchy.
It's still a great movie and I still love the music, except it can get into my head - and I sing it all the time.
It's a great musical and horror (not very scary) and I still love it!

Movie Review: Glam Rock Musical Summary: 5 Stars
I rmemeber my dad showed me this movie back when I was 13. Ever since I had images of the film engrained in my mind from it. I only just purchased the film and it's even better than I remembered because I actually get allot more of it. Not to mention I love the story of Faust since I've read it here in college. If you love or like camp, particularly of the 70's, you'd omst deffinatly would like this film.
