Movie Reviews of PhantasmMovie Review: "You play a good game boy...." Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is a classic horror flick that spawned sequels and great movie acting, (Courtesy of Angus the Tall Man, Reggie B., and others. The movie takes place in the late 7O's and takes you on a journey on a young boy who discovers quite a bit(more than he bargned for) at a funeral parlor at a friend's funeral. The Tall man notices the young boy being very inquesitive at what he is doing around the parlor and then takes after him. The young boy gets help from his brother and Reggie to stop this maniacal demon from terroizing the neighborhood. This movie has some pretty cool scenes of Reggie jammin' guitar with his friend and scenes of the Dodge Challenger (Which appeared in Phantasm II.) If you like 70's horror flick's with many scary moment's, This movie is for YOU!! I didn't regret it.
Movie Review: YES YES FINALLY A CULT CLASSIC Summary: 5 Stars
Ok, I was 7 when I first saw this and it scared me. With those sphere's flying around and Mike having his hand caught in that box. There are so many memories attached to this film for me. I was glad to see that they FINALLY released Phantasm I and III but what about two and four. Or why not a box set. I do understand why two was not up. Not the same "Mike" as in the first one. But it is still part of the story. Glad that they did get Baldwin back though. The other guy was a bit weak and confused. All in all, this is one set I plan to get. Can't knock movies that were fun and scarey to watch. True fans know what I mean.
Movie Review: Worth a second 5 Stars
Thank You Anchor Bay for Re-releasing such a Horror/Sci-Fi Classic
PHANTASM is one of the best Horror Films ever there is nothing like it.
Unlike other films from that time. It has held up and is still Amazing!
With loads of extras and a new DTS Soundtrack the film sounds better than ever! My only problem is No Boxset?
no Phantasm II & Phantsam IV: Oblivion
I'd like to replace/update my Phanstam II Laserdisc to dvd maybe one day?
Be vary afraid, and make sure to lock all your windows!
A must have to add to any dvd collection 10/10
Movie Review: Original work of art... Summary: 5 Stars
... is one of the most unique horror/sci-fi features I've ever seen. The movie start off a little slow, which is not bad at all because it is setting up for what is to come. The story: a Tall man who works at the mortuary is stealing dead bodies to turn them into slaves...the Tall Man is truly creepy and scary. I love this series (Phantasm) because of their continuity--the second one picks up exactly where the first one left off, and the third one picks up where the second one left off. A great film. If you don't already have it in your movie library, then you are missing a must have.
Movie Review: Scary in 1979, hilarious now, but still a treasure Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is a classic. I am sure it scared the heck out of the viewers the first time it was released. It is funny for us now in 2009, but it is still a treasure for collectors of movie memorabilia. I collect horror movies from the original "Nosferatu" until the stuff like "Drag me to hell". It is not that I like to be frightened, but it is exciting to scream and laugh afterwards because of how silly was what got us scared. Excellent movie to see the traditional middle 70s to middle 80s horror movies.
