Movie Reviews of Peter Pan (Widescreen Edition)Movie Review: Peter Pan Summary: 5 StarsI bought this because there is a scene cut out of the UK version. Peter is very lucky because he can fly about all day.I tested the DVD and it works just the same as the UK one and there is an extra scene which you don't see in the UK verson of the film. It is where Hook and Peter are in the Black Castle.
Both films are excellent,UK and the US version.
Movie Review: The best PAN, but please... Summary: 5 StarsAnother reviewer, Mr Barnabo I think it was, had it perfectly right. This is the best and most faithful PETER PAN ever. Jeremy Sumpter, precisely on the cusp of adolescence, with his masculine hands and feet, his androgynous face and figure, and his athletic accomplishment as Pan, realizes for the screen just what Mr Barrie imagined. Wendy and all the cast are equally perfect in their roles. As an aside, I would point out that although Savanarola might have thought some characters scantilly dressed, there is NO nudity, child or otherwise, and this film is safe fore anyone's children, whether they be of Puritan stock or Unitarian agnostics. Like any library where books like Peter Pan might reside on the bookshelf, this DVD can be returned to periodically. I cannot tell you how many times I have viewed Philadelphia Story or Bringing Up Baby, for example, and so my main reason for this review is a plea for the Blu-ray release. Despite owning this DVD, now that I have an HD widescreen TV, I want this on Blu-ray! Please!!!
Movie Review: Shoulda been called Jason Isaacs: The Movie Summary: 1 StarsIt was lame. It was stupid. Jeremy Sumpter was terrible. The child nudity was unnecessary. The only time I enjoyed myself was when Jason Isaacs was on screen. He was the best thing about the movie. And there were plenty of awesome one liners that were ruined by the next of dialogue like, "That was no thimble." Terrible movie all around. That's all I can say.
Movie Review: peter pan is my idol Summary: 5 Starsi have loved peter pan ever since i was a child. it is a wonderful story about magic and freedom and the wonder of childhood, and i believe that this movie did an excellent job of capturing those themes and bringing them alive. there was the added love interest in the movie, that was kind of suggested in the book, but never stated. many times when movies deviate from the original plot in anyway its usually a major disappointment for those who fell in love with the original, but in this case the deviation was very well done and added greatly to the over all effect of the film. this movie is an enchanting retelling of a beloved classic and a must own for all lovers of peter pan!!!
Movie Review: The "Real" Peter Pan Summary: 5 StarsThis is a truely wonderful film. The special effects are amazing! the casting and acting, supurb. You will fall in love with Peter Pan- the story and the character whether you are 5 or 85. There are a few parts that may be too scary for younger children but it is my 5 yr old daughter's favorite movie. She calls it the Real Peter Pan. It is also a good movie for us adults who don't want to grow up! Be sure to watch the extras. They are also very well done. This does justice to Barrie's timeless tale.
