Movie Reviews of PerformanceMovie Review: Performance Summary: 5 Stars
Only slightly less impressive than when I first saw it(a good number of times!) in '71 . . . . and that's probably accounted for by the fact that Jagger is no longer someone I admire. Fox's acting, which is superb, holds the whole film together and the depiction of the London gangster scene in the '60s is unrivaled. 'The Long Good Friday' is almost completely lifted from the first half and the last few scenes of this film.
Movie Review: Great for Fans of James Fox and Nicholas Roeg Summary: 5 Stars
Warners may have used Mick Jagger who is great and non-replacable in this film, but it is James Fox who is excellent in a role that has been noted as the reason James Fox stood away from acting in more films for a period of 8 years! The editing and style of this film are ahead of time. It is another treasure in the Warner Bros. library.
Movie Review: Performance Summary: 5 Stars
Absolute brilliance! The beginning is a bit mundane but then society has a grip on us and we must go underground to be able to see who we really are. Jagger is mystical and who could not consider this to be one of his finest roles. Communal life and psychedelic mushrooms, the key to freedom in the 60's.
Movie Review: Christmas present for my sister, Marilyn, as she longed for Performance to own Summary: 5 Stars
I thought I was just giving this a rating, but my sister, who is sixteen years older than me, says that Performance with Mick Jagger is one of the best, most original movies of its times, early seventies. So, perhaps that would perk your interest. I know she is not wrong!
Movie Review: Cult Favorite Summary: 5 Stars
Great movie, very disturbing, lots of stories about the shooting/editing of this film. Google is your friend for them, don't take my word for it.
