Movie Reviews of PeckerMovie Review: If we are normal? Summary: 4 Stars
If you like Waters, you will like this film. As for the guy who said you won't like this if your "Normal", What is normal again? You? Sorry sir, you have a disorder known as solipsism, where you think the universe actually revolves around your conciousness and "normal" is defined by you. Wake up dude. Normal is relative to perception, a concept you obviously can't grasp. I think this is why you don't like this movie, you couldn't apply it to your "normal" life, which is life where you don't have to think, just process information with mouth hanging open.If you can think for yourself, watch this film, if you are a slack jawed, drooling fool, find something "Normal".
Movie Review: WITH A NAME LIKE 4 Stars
I don't know why I like these types of film so much, maybe because the stories are not stamped out of a production assembly line. 'Pecker' is a smart and funny film with a good cast and lots of quirky characters. I did think it strange that they portrayed Baltimore locals as a bunch of whackos but, the film is very good and carries a good message. I caught this on cable so, if you see it on TV....check it out. I rate it 3 3/4 stars.
Movie Review: Photograph Everything! Summary: 4 Stars
Pecker is a film about a young man who is a photographer. He takes photos of everything. His photos are noticed in a makeshift photo gallery by someone important in the industry. The humor in this film is great its funny without being over-the-top like say maybe Will Ferrel's or Jim Carey's stuff. Edward Furlong is great in this one, as is Christina Rici. A very easy to watch film.
Movie Review: Funny and sweet for John Waters! Summary: 4 Stars
Having seen most of John Waters movies, I was struck by how nice this film was. All the tacky Baltimore touches were included, the fat people, the misfits, the misguided parents, yet Waters capured humor in a new way. Pecker is a good movie and a "must see" for people who know or want to know the "real" Baltimore through Waters eyes!
Movie Review: "...one of the overlooked gems of 1998!" Summary: 4 Stars
I'm sorry I didn't see JOHN WATER'S PECKER on the big screen, as it certainly would have made my 10 best list for 1998. It's funny, sweet and totally off beat. Waters scores again. His commentary on the disc is the best I've heard since the laserdisc of EL MARIACHI.
