Movie Reviews of Pay It ForwardMovie Review: The producers filmed a wonderful movie, now pay it forward Summary: 5 Stars
This isn't the most emotional movie throughout, but the cast and storyline make up for it. The writers offer many great twists and turns; one minute, lives are wonderful, the next, lives break. The acting is wonderful. Had the casters chosen anyone other than Haley Joel Osment to play Trevor, "Pay It Forward" would have been spoiled. He proves that he's one of the few child actors with talent. The make-up team brilliantly desplict Helen Hunt's character as a struggling stressed-out mother, as does Hunt obviously. They make Mr. Simonet's, burns look as if they belonged to Kevin Spacey's. One may think at first glance of this movie that it's low budgetted. There's much more put in this than it appears. That's a good thing. One will end this movie with a new sense of hope and fulfillment. There's no disappointing scene. And....if you've read this, you must pay it forward.
Movie Review: Refreshingly positive! Summary: 5 Stars
In a time when movies are increasingly violent, this "little film" should make a BIG impact. Positive theme, each character has their own private baggage (so not one of them is Hollywood perfect) and no sex or violence. Tender moments abound and while the ending is heart wrenching, I still left the theater feeling as if the entire premise is possible. Some may call it schmaltz, but I say bring it on. I'd rather cry and weep openly than be scared or intimidated. This film is entertainment at its best. Kevin Spacey, as always, delivers a finely detailed portrayal of a man with so many hidden issues, aside from the obvious ones, that you wonder until the end whether he'll ever be able to break out. Helen Hunt shows incredible depth in her scenes as an alcoholic struggling to rise above. And Haley Joel Osment continues to astound - sympathetic yet strong.
Movie Review: Great actors , great feel and good story, A must buy. Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a big Kevin Spacey, 'the actor' fan. He plays his role in this movie very well as he does with all of them. Helen Hunt also plays her part very well, and the young man(Name??-he was the kid in The Sixth Sense) is very talented and is the focal point of the entire show and does an excellent job. It's a movie that makes you feel good at worst. Don't pay it back, pay it forward in goodness. A great 'golf caddy' and human being who is no longer with us named Harvey Penick wrote: "Never talk bad about anyone, it only stirs resentment. Speak no ill of anyone and all the good you know of everybody. And remember, never judge a person too soon. God waits until the end". A very humble man who 'walked the walk'. If we could all live that kind of life everyday wouldn't it be a wonderful world. Buy it. It's a keeper. Adults and kids both.
Movie Review: Highly Underrated Movie!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Once again, the critics have managed to sabotage a movie. Sometimes I wonder how they keep their jobs. This movie is absolutely wonderful and makes you think. Haley Joel Osment, Helen Hunt and Kevin Spacey did a wonderful job. It renews your faith in human kind. A 7th grader is given a social studies project and he comes up with PAY IT FORWARD, meaning when someone does something nice for you, you pay it forward 3 times. He starts by helping his teacher Mr. Simonet (Kevin Spacey), a homeless man(Jim Caviezel) and his friend Adam. And it goes from there unbeknownst to him. It makes you think, it makes you laugh, it makes you cry. If you haven't seen this movie, drive to Blockbuster and rent it tonight. You won't be sorry......and Ebert and Roeper, try picking up trash for a living, you might be better at that.
Movie Review: What can you do to change the world? Summary: 5 Stars
It's an extra credit assignment for 7th grade Social Studies, but Trevor (Haley Joel Osment) takes it very seriously. He decides if you can do three big favors for three different people and they pay it forward to three other people, the world could change.
The movie is the story of what happens with just three simple favors and who of those helped take up the reins and continues on to help others. The results may surprise you. No spoilers here, but have a box of tissues ready for the end.
This is a beautifully acted multifaceted drama. The cast fits well together playing off of each other's strengths and weaknesses like pros. The music is great and the visuals in places are stunning.
I'm not sure I will ever see this film again--I don't need to. I will never forget it.
