Movie Reviews of Party MonsterMovie Review: Wow Summary: 5 Stars
What a great movie! I've been very interested in this story since I read a magazine article about it in the summer of 2003. I'm too young to remember when it all really happened (I was born in 86.) I agree with most people, my favorite parts were any ones that had Seth Green in them. He's a fantastic actor and I totally believed him in his role, but I have to say I loved Macaulay Culkin as Michael Alig also. I thought they had good chemistry on screen, I believed they could friends.Good costumes, and great music, although admittedly not of the right era. I would suggest seeing this movie before reading the book so you can see it at least one time without saying "Oh where's Jennytalia? and Mavis? Where did Freeze come from?" I also loved the inclusion of some real club kids, like my favorite and yours, Richie Rich. Look for him in the movie, he's the cute blonde on roller skates when they're on the talk show.
Movie Review: GOOD ACTING FROM Macaulay Culkin Seth Green Summary: 5 Stars
Culkin and Greens acting is very good, once you understand the shallowness and superficiallity of the characters, and the egotistical peronallities that are portrayed.
The movie shows the "glamorous" side of being a party kid, the popularity, the money.....and the lack of values, the lack of any parental guidance, self destruction, the twisted motivations, a downward spiral of the "american dream".
A photograph of the 80's /90's, and the quest for monetary success, fame, recognition, for a group of teens who had too much, too soon.
It gives you the lives of two boys in particular, who had a certain artistic brilliance, which could have trascended in pop culture, but developed in to worthless lives.
Movie Review: Disturbingly Cool Summary: 5 Stars
I've seen this movie, and I have to say it was a little shocking. There's an obscene amount of drug use, and the fact little Richie Rich is doing half the drugs in the movie makes it even weirder. But it is still a great movie. I found it supremely entertaining from the very first frame of Seth Green talking like a flambouyant newscatser. But despite how hilarious this movie is, it is not a feel good movie. The ending will leave feeling empty and cold. But after you look back at Marylin Manson being a German transvestite, it all works out. The book, Disco Bloodbath by James St. James, is unlike anything you'll ever read. And it plays a pretty important role in the movie too. I suggest the book as well as the movie.

Movie Review: Drama queens for the new age Summary: 5 Stars
I recently watched Party Monster becasue I had once seen a preview somewhere for it and I thought that it looked just so messed up and crazy that I had to see it. My first reaction was laughter at the beginning of the film, because Seth Green's character's attitude towards Mac's character was just funny. The movie, charachters, costumes, set design, story-line and music drew me in and eventually I caught myself thinking about certain parts of the film days after I had watched it. That's what makes a good movie. Even though it was a little out there, I am expecting my copy of the book and an audio cd about the same "club kids" era any day now from amazon.com. I'm still interested.
