Movie Review: Proof that you should avoid the reviews.

I saw this movie on television and was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. And then I read some reviews which were quite negative. Unfortunetly, I have to admit that had I seen the movie after reading the reviews, my enjoyment might very much have been lessened. I really enjoyed the film. it's light, it's funny and the leads are very likable. So what if not everyone agrees that it's good movie. Some of my favorite movies are not "beloved classics." If you're an Audrey Hepburn fan, you owe it to yourself to forget the reviews, ignore Leonard Maltin, and make up your own mind.Movie Review: It's silly, but it still sizzles...

Admittedly, this is neither Holden's nor Hepburn's premiere work. However, there is still some good writing in this film. Clever dialogue manifesting itself best in the recurring bit about the "liar and a thief suit" garners laughs fromk me and my family every time we watch this film. Some great campiness and send-ups of movie and book genres; and Tony Curtis making fun of Marlon Brando's acting style is classic.... It's not a perfect movie, but it certainly delivers in the humor department.Movie Review: A great surprise

Paris When It Sizzles is a great tale that I found played off of bits of other Audrey Hepburn movies, making vague refrences to movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany's which enhances the movie if you are a true fan and collector of Hepburn movies. Truely a comedy, the characters are original and classic. William Holden does a fantastic job of portraying his character. I had never heard of this film until I recently saw it as the in-flight movie on a jet. Now I own it. It's a very nice romantic comedy, with a surreal edge to it. Also there are some cameos by big stars to look out for. Audrey Hepburn absolutely never looked as beautiful as she does here in Paris When It Sizzles. It may not have the depth of some of her other movies, but this one is a lot of fun.Movie Review: good movie...audrey is just beautiful

I didn't really finish the whole thing...that was a late night. And this is my first Audrey movie, which is made seriously 50 years ago. But she is definitely just beautiful, and lots of her style never fades even according to today's views. Classical views of Paris and classical yet funny way of making a movie in a movie. It was good.
