Movie Reviews of Paris, TexasMovie Review: The movie that makes you lost. Summary: 5 Stars
Been working as a bus driver, Ive been on the road most of the time. I really love this movie. Pictures, landscapes, and that guitar sound lingers on my mind whenever Im driving. When I first saw it on TV I was hooked, I got lost to its absolute beauty, I think now I found the movie that ive been longin for for a long time. You spend most of the time wondering what really happen to travis while at the same time enjoying the picture perfect cinematography, and of course the always beautiful Nastassja Kinski delivers it most when its needed, and who would ever forget that poetic dialogue between travis and jane, whom many considered the highlight of the film.
Watch it and enjoy.
Movie Review: Music man Summary: 5 Stars
The writer is Sam Shepherd, the director is Wim Wenders and the theme is alienation. Harry Dean Stanton is excellent as the spaced out wreck trying to piece his life back together and Nastassja Kinski is phenomenal as his ex-wife.
Travis only ever sees Kinski's 'Jane'through glass as a metaphor for the alienation between the two protagonists, the barrier that once raised can never be lowered.
Anyone who has ever loved deeply and madly then lost that love will find a deep resonance in this movie.
Most loved-and-lost movies deal with the destruction of the relationship - this shows the aftermath.
Buy it, watch it every 10 years, learn from it.
Movie Review: to all those 1 star reviewer Summary: 5 Stars
you guys just dont get it, this is all about cinematography and unpredictable storyline, this is a very unconventional movie, this aint also about fast cars, this is a movie with brain, you have to use your brain to understand the message, if you dont get it then fine, go watch some action flicks or teeny bopper love stories, but anyway enough about that.
I'm just amazed with the 20 minute dialogue between travis and jane, just recently watch the DVD and found out that, that scene alone just takes 1 take to shoot, wow... that scene just proves how great Nastassja as an actress, she's not just a pretty face but also a damn pretty good actress.
Movie Review: One of best movies ever filmed Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this movie in the theater when it was released. I was only 23 then but found the entire movie mesmerizing. It ranked then as the best movie I had ever seen, and now 21 years later it still ranks easily at the top of that same list.
In some ways having watched such a masterpiece of cinema at such a relatively young age was a mixed blessing. I say that only in the sense that every movie I've seen since pales in comparison quality wise. The average disposable Hollywood production starts looking like a waste of time and money.
Buy, rent, or borrow this film. You will not regret the 2 1/2 hours of your life spent watching it.
Movie Review: Visually Stunning Summary: 5 Stars
I have this DVD through a Christmas present, I just cant believe how painful this movie is, especially when Travis left in the ending parts. I keep asking myself why did he do that? and I think I'm not the only one who asks that question, I think the reason why he leaves after Jane was reunited with her son Hunter is that he thinks he's the one responsible why they are separated, so inorder to pay for his sins, he brings Jane back to Hunter.
Ive seen this movie 7 times now, I just love the landscapes, the Immortal face of Harry Dean in the Desert, Robby Muller cinematography is perfect and so does Ry Cooder's sad guitar slides.
