Movie Review: Humm....

Poor quality video for a DVD. Also is a district 2 video, I was lucky to have an 'All' district player. Was more suitable for the five dollar bin at Walmart. 'Buyer beware.'Movie Review: Awful film, mild erotica.

Your first tip-off that this film's director is desperate is when the monkeys appear. It seems anytime a film begins to lag, they fall back on nudity or forced comic relief. "Paradise" suffers from both in abundance. The film wastes time on 2 stupid monkeys who add precious little to the story, but sadly, seem to be almost as smart as the human leads.
Phoebe Cates is truly one of the most beautiful women to ever appear in films. But her charms were not enough to carry this stunted 'Blue Lagoon' rip-off. Oddly enough, I truly liked Willie Aames in 'Eight Is Enough', but here, he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.
No doubt many will buy this film for Phoebe's nude scenes. They may be disappointed. Most of the scenes show her only from the back and side, no real full frontal nudity. And I strongly suspect that in some parts, like her love scenes with Aames, a body double was used. I found it rather suspicious that there were close-ups on a woman's breasts, but don't show her face. It makes even more sense when you consider Cates' rather young age at the time.
If you want to see Phoebe in her birthday suit glory, this is a good buy for the price, since she shows a lot more than she did in 'Ridgemont High'. But as far as being a great film is concerned, this flick misses the mark by several miles.
Movie Review: Full movie, uncut but parts censored, and terrible quality.

I have bought an old move before, and the quality was decent. however, this is my second time. and this was not worth it.
the story is alright, but the quality is terrible. some of the video is in good quality, but pretty much all the full nude shots are really pixely and grainy. i couldn't finish it with the such terrible quality.
it's uncut, but the uncut scenes are censored...
if you want to get this for the nudity, it's not worth it.
the quality for the cut version may be better, but i'm not spending more money to figure out if it is.

Can't give this one more that 2 stars, because the nude scenes just weren't that good. Maybe it was the quality of the dvd, which was poor, or the way they were shot. Whatever, the story was dumb, acting was bad, and since the main reason for buying the disk was for Phoebe Cates nude scenes, it wasn't worth it. I admit it. I only bought this movie for one reason: the lovely Phoebe Cates is topless in much of the movie. (Okay, so make that two reasons.) On this point, I was not disappointed.
That said, I made the mistake of trying to watch this turkey of a movie from beginning to end. I believe the makers of this movie were confused about who their target audience is.
On one hand, the film contains a lot of nudity and sex. On the other, the film features dumbed-down, bad dialogue and patently groan-worthy attempts at humor, the kind of humor that only 5 year old children would find amusing. Really, the scenes with the monkeys were as childish as they were totally out-of-place in a softcore porn flick.
