Movie Review: A CLASSIC! TATUM AND RYAN ARE PRICELESS IN THE MOVIE!
Summary: 5 Stars
This is the kind of movie that can not be duplicated. It is like lightning in a bottle. Ryan and Tatum O'Neal are pure magic as the "one step ahead of em" con artists, but it is little Tatum O'Neal who completely steals the show! Filmed in beautiful black and white which sets the tone of this depression era comedy. The supporting cast in excellent too, so the film never drags. The DVD transfer is great and some interesting extras.Movie Review: A Fabulous Movie

One of my favorite movies of all time. Tatum O'Neil richly deserved her Oscar for this. She steals the show as a hard-nosed realist and no-nonsense type dealing with her guardian's flakey, get-rich schemes. Both funny and moving, it's not only a great story but a powerful period piece about Depression-Era Kansas. Caveat: while the star is a child this movie contains adult material and is not suitable for viewing by children.Movie Review: witty,fun,great simple classic entertainment

This film is a true classic. Although the Oscar (well deserved) went to young Tatum O'Neal for her stunning performance as Addie Loggins, it seems the equally strong performance by her father, Ryan O'Neal, as Moses Pray was overlooked by the Academy. If you have not seen this film, do so...it will make for a fun Saturday afternoon for the whole family!Movie Review: Rare Gem!

Since this movie was partially filmed in my home town (Dorrance), and I am very familiar with all the other filming locations, I would have to give this movie 5 stars. This movie entertained me years ago, and even my young daughters enjoyed it. When a movie can be entertaining through the generational gap, you know it is a classic!
