Movie Reviews of Paper Moon

Movie Review: Tatum O'Neal is a snot-nosed genius.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have only seen this heartfelt movie once but I am sure to purchase Paper Moon as soon as I can. I love Tatum O'Neal, she earned a best supporting actress oscar at ten (the youngest to win). Ryan O'Neal is great too even though I don't respect the guy too much off-camera but Paper Moon is a timeless tale of a little orphaned girl who believes the man she traveling with is really her father. Who knows if he really is but Paper Moon is a landmark in filmmaking, excellent direction by Peter Bogdanovich. Paper Moon is filmed in black and white, perfect for the time this movie is set in. I highly recommend this gem of a film.

Movie Review: "It's Only a 5 Stars

Great. This movie is an essential and Tatum O'Neal is hilarious in her Academy Award-winning role as the cigarette-smoking nine-year-old, Addie Loggins, who joins conman Moses Pray (real-life-father Ryan O'Neal) after the death of her mother. This movie is in beautiful black & white and is directed by Peter Bogdanovich whose direction is marvelous! Co-starring is Madeline Kahn as the 'Harem-Girl-Dancer' Trixie Delight who comes between 'Moze' and Addie.
This movie is rated PG for severe language, sexual content, and brief violence. In my opinion, this movie should be rated PG-13.

Movie Review: Frank D. Roosevelt says we're all feelin' a lot better
Summary: 5 Stars

What a classic. The writing. The acting. The photography. The stark Kansas landscape. The music. It all comes together in this funny and poignant tale of a con artist and his unwanted traveling companion, set during the depths of the Depression. The fact that Tatum and Ryan O'Neal are daughter-father in real life adds a layer of authenticity to the film. Tatum won an Oscar for her performance, but Madeline Kahn nearly steals the movie as Trixie Delight. I have watched this movie at least 50 times since it was released, and I always find it thoroughly entertaining.

Movie Review: Watched it being made
Summary: 5 Stars

This early 1970's wonderful movie was partially filmed in St. Joseph, Missouri where I lived at the time. My house was about 3 blocks from the Holiday Inn where the entire cast stayed. Town people would go to the motel to eat and walk around the lobby just to see the cast. Tatum would be running around and frequently Ryan O'Neal, Sybil Sheppard, and Peter Bogdonavich would be eating in the dining room. It was a fun experience while living in a midwest town.

A wonderful, classic movie that will live on as one of the greatest!!!!

Movie Review: Paper Moon
Summary: 5 Stars

Bogdanovich's masterpiece of hilarity, the comic flip-side to his brilliant "The Last Picture Show", made two years prior. .This time around, thanks to Alvin Sargent's Oscar-nominated screenplay, continual laughter accompanies the director's dusty rendering of 1930's America. We are convulsed as, time and again, child prodigy Addie proves herself a superior hustler to the hapless Moses. Kahn is priceless as Trixie Delight, a floozie dumb enough to try to come between this unlikely pair. Tatum became youngest player ever to win an Oscar.
