Movie Reviews of Pantera: 3 Vulgar Videos from Hell

Movie Review: I agree with the last reviewer
Summary: 3 Stars

I already owned all of these on video, but i bought this version because i thought that i could get the conveniences of dvd. unfortunately, with each video getting 1 track, it is no more convenient than vhs. i do not understand why it would be put together like this. but that being said, these videos are amazing. the behind the scenes stuff is hilarious. the videos are great. the live stuff is great. still a must purchase for all pantera fans.

Movie Review: Poor DVD for the best Metal band ever
Summary: 2 Stars

Simply put, Pantera is by far my favorite metal band. The energy they exude in concert is unrivaled. However, this DVD barely even begins to capture any of that.

The production of this DVD is poor. Everything from the title screen to the lack of scene selection to the clips that they show are badly chosen. When I purchased this DVD, I was hoping to see a lot of concert footage. But this lacks that. Instead, it shows a lot of clips of the members of Pantera playing pranks on each other or having a good time backstage... not to say that is not entertaining. But when I purchase a music group's DVD, I'm hoping that they have concert footage. The only good live concert footage that they have on this is from their Moscow concert, which was incredibly awesome! If they had two hours of that type of footage, then I would give this DVD 5 stars! Unfortunately, it lasts only a couple of songs.

If you like music videos (MTV style), then this may be a good DVD set for you: the Pantera videos are contained on these discs. They even contain some extras like how and where they shot the videos.

Bottom line is, if you want to see Pantera clown around and have fun while not playing music, then buy this DVD... you will love it. But if you are looking for concert footage, then I would pass on this and look towards Chaos DVD (Sepultura) or even Live At The Grand Olympic Auditorium (Rage Against The Machine).

Movie Review: More drunken anthology than Live Footage
Summary: 2 Stars

I hoped to maybe get a live concert like off of Live 101 Proof but there's mostly drunken, behiind-the-stage antics going on. Its fun, play along, match Dimebag shot for shot, but it gets a little old. There's a good live Cowboys from the '91 Moscow Festival, but no Live TrendKill. The cool videos off of Far Beyond are within all the meyhem and not in the menu. Probably a True-Fans-only DVD but I know I'll keep mine.

Movie Review: May as well buy the Videos
Summary: 2 Stars

Yes the content Pantera is of course great - but this seems to have been a profit making DVD. Heavy Metal without ANY subwoofer output!! My 15" seperate sub is doing nothing because they didn't put the track in. No real DVD features, quality not really much better than video's.

If you have the video's give this one a miss - otherwise don't buy it if you want to listen to music, buy the CD's instead.

Movie Review: Dull, even for PETUNIA
Summary: 2 Stars

Boy, has metal gone downhill in the mainstream. Of course it's better than their first album, but what isn't. Petunia has always had its rabid fans and always will, but as a non-fan I can't recommend this dvd to other non-fans.
