Movie Reviews of POV: FarmingvilleMovie Review: Interesting immigration debating points Summary: 4 Stars
I found both sides of the immigration debate to be quite compelling. Both sides have proponents that range from tolerant to logical to extreme.
I, for one, missed this news, when it was actually happening - and since this documetary was made over 2-3 years, it is quite interesting to watch the progression of the debate in the NY town.
Movie Review: Immigration Debate - Northern Style Summary: 4 Stars
This is an excellent video. I used it in my American History classes and they were pretty much riveted to it. It provided a great format to discuss the issue of illegal immigration. Even though it is a bit biased in favor of the Mexican day laborers, it is definitely worth using to stimulate discussion on this topic.
Movie Review: Misleading Summary: 1 Stars
This film is really about brainwashing viewers into feeling sorry for illegal aliens. Not only did these filmmakers capitalize on a small town called Farmingville, they're also promoting their liberal agenda at the same time.
The real story about Farmingville should be about the adverse impact this invasion of 2000 men has on a small town.
For example:
- about how this neighborhood has been destroyed with 40-50 men living in houses
- about how the resale value of homes have fallen 50% or more
- about how women and children don't feel safe to visit the stores or ride their bikes around.
- about how kids lemonade stands have disappeared, or why girl scouts are not allowed to go out and sell cookies
- about this underground economy that does not pay any taxes
- about how prostitutes are seen visiting overcrowded homes where these men live
Wake up America. Don't let other people paint a picture of what they want your to see.
Movie Review: What about Americans? Summary: 1 Stars
We all know they come here to work, most of them, but what about the illegal alien gangs that are growing across the nation, the dozens of Americans who are killed every day by illegal aliens, and those are just the ones who are here illegally. Their children have no allegiance to any nation but their parents homeland, and they flood our schools to the brim, what about American children? How do You explain the "we don't serve Gringos" signs posted in restaurants across L.A. the Southwest is increasingly becoming unfriendly to those of us who don't share in the wealth created by this new slave class. We who must go to the same hospitals and attend the same schools that this invading culture does, are faced with the threatening reality that we don't have a country anymore, and our government does not give a damn about us. This is only headed in one direction, WAR! I'll be damned if my family is treated like second class citizens in our own nation, if blood must be shed to save my nation they so be it!
