Movie Reviews of P.S. I Love You

Movie Review: Definitely a girl's night out flick!
Summary: 5 Stars

What a great movie! I couldn't wait to see and it totally delivered on that wait. My husband wishes he didn't go with me though. Because it made me cry several times throughout the movie. I wasn't sure I would have liked Hillary Swank beside Gerard Butler, but it worked. And I was glad Gerard got to sing again!! He's got a great voice and I've listened to him over and over again from "Phantom of the Opera". I loved the scenery in it also. It was breath taking! When is Gerard going to be nominated for an award for his great acting!! And you gotta love the accent.

Movie Review: I loved this movie
Summary: 5 Stars

Although I generally am not a big fan of "chick flicks" this was one of my favorite movies of 2007. It's the type of movie that makes you both laugh and cry. Be sure to have tissues handy when you watch it. Even the guys in the audience were laughing at the funny parts. Oh, and for you Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans, James Marsters has a decent sized role as a husband to the main character's best friend. I was pleasantly surprised to see his name in the opening credits, and then almost didn't recognize him because he is a brunet in the movie.

Movie Review: One of my favorites
Summary: 5 Stars

I think this movie was fantastic. And the story itself is brilliant (kudos Ms Ahern). It is about a woman dealing with the death of her beloved husband. However, she deals with it in a unique way...via letters from him. The charm and mystery of the movie is watching her heal, move on, and wondering how she is getting the letters. Hillary Swank and Gerard Butler are terrific. I would also highly recommend buying the book. There is more detail and some differences.....even better than the movie and I gave the movie five stars!

Movie Review: A three box of kleenex must
Summary: 5 Stars

Touching to the point that I began crying from the moment of the wake. Subsequently, I cried through the entire movie. These weren't tears of sadness, they were the tears where you sigh and think Gerry is the most wonderful man to have ever lived, determined that his love for his wife (Holly) could still be shouted from the rooftops even after he has left. Holly's pursuit of Gerry's requests to help her through her grief and depression are at times funny and poignant and the photography is absolutely stunning!

Movie Review: Great tear-jerker romance
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll skip the plot description, since it looks like a lot of people have already supplied that, and just say this is a really great movie. I haven't read the book, so I can't compare the two, but the movie is a wonderful and very poignant love story with great performances by Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank, as well as lots of lovable supporting characters. I thought it was very easy to sympathize with Swank in her grief. It is incredibly sad, though, and I cried almost from start to finish, so bring the tissues!
