Movie Reviews of P.S. I Love You

Movie Review: Attention men: Don't run away from this film
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife held a gun on me and forced me to watch this romantic comedy. I briefly debated to myself which would hurt more, the movie or the bullet. But within five minutes I was hooked.

This is a beautiful film. It's touching and memorable. What's her name is great as the female lead and that Spartan King dude does a brilliant job of playing a dead guy. This movie has the power to remind men how nice it is to be in love with someone you actually like.

Okay, a lot of guys will notice that this movie is missing the standard quota of murders, explosions, rapes and decapitations. But don't dismiss it fellas, there is still a fine story here.

I highly recommend "PS, I love you." Men, pass on the blood, cars and guns for once and rent this film tonight to watch with your girlfriend or wife. The evening will go well, trust me.

Movie Review: P.S. I Loved It!
Summary: 5 Stars

I hadn't heard great things about this movie, but when I finally caught it on HBO, I thought... this movie is really cute, I wonder why it didn't get better reviews. One night, I watched it again a second time and thought... this movie is really good. And so, I bought the DVD. Well, I've watched this movie at least half a dozen times since then and it never loses a beat, if anything, you catch more and more of the little bits that are really funny with each viewing. Harry Connick, Jr. is adorable as the 'wants to be more than a friend' character and both Gina Gershon and Lisa Kudrow play off each other very well. Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler had terrific chemisty (even though his role is played mostly in 'flashback' sequences...) The scenery in Ireland is just beautiful and the lack of needing any foul language or gratuitous nudity or sex to make the movie interesting and funny is very refreshing. Yes, it may be considered a 'chick flick', but I think anyone who needs a good laugh especially when life kicks you around a bit should buy this movie.

Movie Review: A Lively and lovely Irishman!
Summary: 5 Stars

It is incredible to know that Gerry will be dead in the beginning of this very romantic film! Gerard Butler (Gerry) and Hilary Swank (Holly) have great chemistry indeed. Gerry loves Holly so much that before dying of a brain cancer leaves her several letters, each one with a different and uplifting message and advice so that she can continue with her life without him, all of these letters ending with a "P.S. I love you"! Their most important and touching moments together are showed in flashbacks, really romantic, funny and also showing breathtaking scenery from Ireland, Gerry's homeland. Here we can feel and see how love is so strong that can overcome death. If you believe in love and is in the mood for a well told story, watch this movie. I ordered the book and am looking forward to reading it to compare it to the film. People say the film is much better... I'll return with my book review later... Cheers, friends! Live your lives full of love. That' what really matters!

Movie Review: Grab a girlfriend and see this movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

I will be the first person to admit that this movie is not for everyone. If your taste in movies runs toward "The Bourne Redundancy" or "No Country for Vile Men," this movie might not be for you. On the other hand, if you are a chick who loves her chick flicks, you'd be hard pressed to find a better one. Grab a friend, grab a hanky, and go see this movie!

Hillary Swank does a fabulous job portraying the emotional rollercoaster that our heroine goes through. In fact, there is not a weak link in the bunch. Harry Connick, Jr., Kathy Bates, Gerard Butler, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lisa Kudrow--they are all at the top of their game and an absolute pleasure to watch.

And one final plug for the soundtrack. It's full of wonderful and unexpected treasures that were unearthed specifically for this film. Stop by the record shop on the way home from the theater and pick one up. It makes a perfect movie souvenir!

Movie Review: 28yr old guy cried like a baby
Summary: 5 Stars

Yes, you read it right in the subject line...I am a regular 28 year old guy who lifts weights, plays video games from time to time, etc. That being said I could not stop crying through this movie. My girlfriend and I watched it together and it just makes you well up with emotion over and over again. It brings to light some poignant truths: that life is short, not to be pedantic (don't let the little things get to you), Love and cherish the people who are special to you. I never particularly cared for Hillary Swank before this (I think it all started when she played "the next karate kid" lol) but now I really like her as an actress. It's such a beautiful movie with a beautiful love story that ended too soon, but such is life...rarely ever fair. "Carpe Diem and remember the important things because they may be gone before you know it" once again are the messages this movie sends. I highly recommend it to anyone.
