Movie Review: Pure entertainment and no doubt it is a Classic!!

If you are going to get worked up because of historical facts,get a history book.But if you are looking for some great Old West entertainment;this movie has it all.
I have seen this movie several times over the years and enjoyed it every time.
I was in one of those "Dollar Stores" recently and came across this package of 3 full-length Features on a DVD for the grand sum of $1.It included "Algiers" with Hedy Lamarr,"Home Town Story" with Marilyn Monroe and "The Outlaw" with Jane Russell.Just for the heck of it,I picked it up to see what it was like.The first movie I watched was "The Outlaw".It is the original B&W version and runs the full 116 minutes.I am a big fan of westerns in both movie and book form;and have been watching them ever since the 1940's.I have seen hundreds of them,and watched all the TV Series over the years. I still enjoy them and even the recent ones like "Dead Man's Gun" and "Deadwood"; and if you check my reviews I read the "Longarm",The Trailsman","The Gunsmith","Slocum" and other series.
When I watched this movie,all I can say I really enjoyed it.As to the quality of the acting,the script,historical accuracy,filming techniques etc.compared to movies today;well to put it in simple terms there is no comparison.All that aside;I really enjoyed it and before writing this review;I read all the other reviews.I have to say,I enjoyed reading these reviews as much as I enjoyed the movie;in fact I enjoyed them as much as reviews for any other movie or book.
Some of the reviewers are very knowledgeable and are so well done that I almost didn't bother writing one;for the simple reason there isn't much more to say.
If you read the reviews,make sure you read the one that Dr.James Gardner wrote on March 21,2010.His is on the 2DVD Package which included a color version,a commentary by Jane Russell and a restored and enhanced copy of the original
B&W movie.His review is excellent and he really knows what he is talking about.
All I can say it that it's a long time since I got more "bang for my buck" than I got from this movie and the Reviews---and there is still "Algiers" and "Home Town Story".Here we are looking at the real Giants and Legends of Hollywood .
