Movie Review: Fabulous!
Summary: 5 Stars
I first heard Carmina Burana on BBC TV when I lived in the UK, in 1978 (I believe). They did an incredible operatic production that I remember to this day, and I wish it were available on DVD. I have searched for a DVD perfomance of this piece for years, and recently came across this one. Although it is a choral perfoance, and not an operatic performance, it is truly magnificent. Seiji Ozawa's conducting is at its best, and the timpani is incredible! To watch a Japanese choir singing in Latin is amazing! Beethoven's #9 is great, too, but it's the Carmina Burana that I am raving about.
