Movie Review: Finally!!!

Finally, the best animated Christmas special since the Grinch has made it to DVD!
Like many others here, I remember seeing this special originally on TV. I remember being both excited and worried about seeing it, since it's often difficult to translate such comic icons as Opus and Bill the Cat into animation. However, the crew that put this together did a wonderful job of getting the characters right. Add to that a terrific, heart-warming story line, and I immediately put this on my short list of must-watch Christmas specials.
However, it only appeared on TV once, as I recall, and I never saw it again until I happened across a laserdisc of it a few years later. In fact, this special was one of the few reasons I kept my laserdisc player until it died a few years ago. I was almost to the point of giving up on ever seeing this special again when I (again) stumbled across this DVD at a local supermarket.
I would have to agree with the other reviewers that $15 is a steep price to pay for only 20 minutes of video. For that money, it would have been nice to see at least a "behind the scenes" short, an interview with Breathed, or a running commentary with various cast and crew. Still, it's nice to see an "old" favorite Christmas special available to the public once again, and, with after Christmas sales coming, I suspect you'll be able to pick it up cheaper shortly.
