Movie Reviews of Operation Petticoat

Movie Review: Operation Petticoat
Summary: 5 Stars

Cary Grant is cast as the commander of the Sea Tiger, a sub held together by a lick and a promise. Tony Curtis is cast as Lt Nick Holden. He was assigned sea duty as a punishment, and is very outside of his element. Since the country is at war, supplies are very scarce, and Holden discovers that he does have a talent in being a thief. If they can't get a requisition filled, Mr. Holden can find it. This crew has one catastrophe after another, and then they get stuck with team of nurses that are stranded. This is a hilarious movie that will make you laugh out loud. The cast is superb, and not just the talent of Grant and Curtis, but all the supporting players.

Movie Review: An Unsinkable Comedy!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a wonderful, classic, and clean movie the whole family can enjoy over and over. There's lots of laughs on board the pink submarine. The captain and crew grow together through their many transitions and mishaps and find some humorous solutions to their challenges. They even get a little crowded when they have to rescue some nurses and natives. Although they really didn't want to take on the nurses, or natives, the nurses end up helping save the day! Cary Grant and Tony Curtis are superb in their roles in this upbeat comedy. I highly recommend it!

Movie Review: A Movie for All.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of my favorite oldie's. I had pretty much worn my VHS out and needed another one, so the DVD had to be the new choice. Always loved Gary Grant. It's a good clean movie and very enjoyable. The type of movie I can let the grandchildren watch with no worries. I don't like most of the movies that are made today, so I still stick the good older ones. There are sooooo many laughs in this movie and yes, most of the time I watch it by myself. If you are havin or had a bad day, this movie will lift you spirit. Buy it, you wont be sorry.

Movie Review: Always worth watching!!! Extremely funny!
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't begin to think of how many times I have seen this film. As a kid, as a teenager, as a young adult... I still find myself watching it whenever it comes on.

A pink submarine.... Imagine seeing that.....

Tony Curtis as the "Scrounger". He's perfect for the part. Cary Grant is as cool as ever. I always like to watch him. The way he can act so calm and cool even when the most outlandish situations are presented...

Movie Review: One Great Line Among Many
Summary: 5 Stars

One of the very funny lines comes from an officer watching through binoculars as Nick Holden brings a boat load of nurses back to the sub from a bombed island: "Wow -- now that's what I call scavenging!" The officer is played by Dick Sargent, the second Darin on "Bewitched."

Matt Sherman comments that he's a little concerned about Lt. Holden's influence and recommends a little less "Wow" and a little more "Tsk Tsk."
