Movie Reviews of One to AnotherMovie Review: Quelle domage Summary: 2 Stars
This film was really, really awful. Boring, confusing and dull. It is saved from getting one star only by the fact that there's lotsa cute naked people! It's helpful, but not enough to build a movie on.
What was wrong with this movie? It's very disjointed, for one thing. Much of it is told in flashback, and while there's nothing wrong with that in principle, you have to have people who know what they're doing. This film appears to lack that.
The movie centers around a girl searching for clues to the murder of her brother. The brother in question was something of a slut/prostitute, who slept with just about everyone, including her (though apparently they never actually Did The Deed).
It's not a bad plot idea, but frankly after the first hour or so I stopped caring. None of the characters really engaged me. Sure, the bare skin was nice to look at, but shallow though I am, I do prefer there to be a little more substance (besides, if you want a couple movies with acres of attractive flesh, check outY Tu Mama Tambien and The Dreamers (Original Uncut NC-17 Version)).
In more competent hands this could've been a good movie. As it is... well, put it this way: if all you want to do is see the nakeds, rent the film from Netflix. Since it's released by them, I'm sure you can find it pretty easily. Don't be like me and buy a copy you're now stuck with.
Le film c'est merde.
Movie Review: Disjointed Summary: 1 Stars
Not even the naked bodies were enough to keep me awake; I kept on dosing off. The viewer was never given enough time to get to know or sympathise with the characters because of the constant jumping around. None of the characters were that sympathetic to begin with, and by the time I'd figured out who was who I'd lost interest (and lost the plot because of my intermittent naps.) It was fairly easy to guess who the murderers were as well.
English sub-titles were adequate.
