Movie Review: Were you that little fat boy?
Summary: 5 Stars
Holy cow, do I love this movie. "Look! The craziness!"This is one of those movies that played endlessly on HBO, and I remembered it quite fondly. One day I threw it in the VCR and surprised myself by laughing almost nonstop through the whole thing.
Sure, it seems a cookie-cutter comedy from the eighties, and it is, but look! the craziness!
The brilliance of the movie is how it's situations keep slowly escalating into pure comic insanity. Sure everybody remembers Bobcat Goldthwait rampaging in a Godzilla costume, but the seeds for the scene were presented about fifteen minutes ago and there was an uninterrupted continuity that took us from there to here. This is pretty amazing for a "cookie-cutter" comedy.
Really, it's this sense of mayhem that keeps bringing me back to the movie. Mayhem. That's what I want out of comedies, and this is one of its epitomes. This and GREMLINS 2.
But who cares about that? This movie brings the funny. What more could you ask for? No thanks to all the cute and fuzzy bunnies in the world.
Movie Review: A Great Cult Classic

This is one of my all time favorite videos. I recently bought this to share with my teenage son. It was also an opportunity for me to enjoy some nostalgia.
Each scene has some kind of gag that will at least make you giggle or outright laugh. I was surprised to see my son's reaction. Here is your typical teenager with a sophisticated taste in his movies. He was laughing so hard, I thought he would pee himself.
You can tell a lot of the actors in this film were just starting out and you can see some of their acting skills are stiff or forced. Regardless, you can see all of the actors are having fun.
I don't know how to explain it but this is one of those movies that has a certain magic to it. When you are done watching you'll be smiling, feeling good, and shouting one liners.
Movie Review: Great movie

What a classic movie. How can you not dig such a funny movie? I think you maybe need to be a true Gen X-er (I am...will be 35 later this year) to fully appreciate its humor. It's not funny in the same way as say Weird Science, Sixteen Candles or Breakfast Club (other great movies by the way), but it still has its moments. This is more that summer before you go to college or go find your place in the 'real world'. This is less a "I can name every character in the movie because I know people like them" and more just a sit back and laugh movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. This is definitely a wacky comedy. One of it's most known features is that a young Demi Moore is in it. It's also directed by Savage Steve Holland who also did Better Off Dead with John Cusack. One Crazy Summer contains some of the same trademark animation bits as in Better Off Dead. The humor is definitely 80s, but it's still very funny today. There are a lot of small details that can be passed up if not paying attention, like the high school being Generic High School in Generic, New York. If you love the 80s or wacky comedies, this one's a hit for you.Movie Review: One of the greatest comedies EVER!

This was Savage Steve Holland's follow up film to the cult classic better off dead... he had big shoes to fill and boy did he ever make another winner! Starring John Cussack, Demi Moore and Bobcat Goldthwait this movie is a laugh fest with some very nice touching moments in between! Even after all these years this movie still makes me laugh out loud! I can't recommend it enough to you all!
