I saw this movie on the guide just as it was starting last night and I'm glad I did! I knew about the origional version with Carol Burnett and the revival with Sarah Jessicah Parker and I was so happy to see that they made it into a movie. I thought it would have been a rerun of the origional with Carol Burnett but soon found out that it wasn't. I found the whole experiance very enjoyable. I loved Tracy and loved everyone else! I did notice that they did cut some songs, but I was glad they did. All in all this is the only movie version to compare to, so it has to be the best! And it is! It's goofy, it's funny, and it's just for people who like goofy and funny musicals. I would recoment it to anyone!Movie Review: Just To Let You Know...

Yiu are lucky that a version was done to this musical at all! So Tracy didn't do as good as Carol in the origional version but she is a lot better than Sarah Jessica Parker would have been if they chose her to reprise the role from the revival.
Yes thay cut songs! But they cut boring songs! They had to cut somthing! The show is sbout 2 hours! Which is way to long for a KIDS movie musical! They cut songs just to make it more enjoyable for us! A KIDS movie musical should be about 90 min. which it is! So stop complaning and be happy that there is a movie version. Of course it could be a lot better, but the kids don't care!

Watched this on a recent evening with my wife and kids....everyone enjoyed it. Even my 10-year-old son, who is slowing stepping into the cynicism of early adolescence, wanted to watch it again!
I remember watching Carol Burnett on her TV show when I was younger, and she always made me laugh...she makes a great evil queen here!
In fact, the entire cast is wonderful!

Carol Bernett is terrific, and Tracy Ullman steals the show. (If the star can be said to steal a show.) Not my favorite musical ever, but this is a great reworking of it. The set and costumes are georgeous. (Those who have a problem with the pregnancy subplot may be urged to consider getting a life -- unfortunately, that's one of the few items not available for sale on Amazon.com)Movie Review: I'm 4 Stars
I'm so excited!! And it comes out on my birthday!!! Awhile back I found out that there was a TV movie "Once Upon A Mattress" but it was over 30 years old so I knew I wouldn't be able to rent it. Then I was wandering around Amazon and I found this one. I sure hope it's good. I can't wait.
