Movie Reviews of Now, Voyager (Keepcase)Movie Review: Bette at her best Summary: 5 Stars
Now, Voyager is one of Bette Davis' greatest films, her transformation from a repressed wall flower to a vibrant, loving woman is impressive and believable. Claude Rains is wonderful as is Gladys Cooper. This is an unforgettable movie, enjoyable over and over again like a favorite book. What I would also like to see on DVD is "Stolen Life" co-starring Glenn Ford. Considered a B-movie it is actually a great showcase for Bette Davis starring as a pair of twins in love with Glenn Ford. AMAZON.com please post a sign up list for a "Stolen Life" DVD!

Movie Review: Review of Now, Voyager Summary: 5 Stars
This is a truly wonderful movie. It's also the first Bette Davis flick I've seen. I usually don't end up watching too many older movies, but this one was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm so glad I watched it. It's a beautiful story of a young woman growing up and overcoming her personal insecurities caused by her unhappy childhood. I know how cheesy that sounds, but trust me, it's not. I always enjoy a story that has good character development, and this one is no exception.
Now I just need to get my hands on a copy of the book.
Movie Review: Now Voyager...Great Summary: 5 Stars
This VHS was in great condition, timely sent. It is one of Bette Davis'
finest; one we watch over & again; A true classic How it speaks to all of us today. May we look at ourselves through the mirror of our eyes and those who truly love us. May we find the strength and courage to face anyone (even parents) who paint a terrible, less than honest portrait of us; and may we learn that in this life, unconditional love, a selfless giving to another in need is a marvelous way to become whole and free.
Movie Review: getting out from under a controlling mother Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent, beautifully costumed and lit film of 1942, starring young Bette Davis as a woman who gets out from under her bossy mother's thumb long enough to blossom into a sophisticate who falls in love with an unhappily married man. Later, she helps his sad daughter out of her depression. Good story and cast.
I tell you, that controlling mother of hers threw herself down the staircase on purpose!
"My mother! My mother! My mother! My mother!"
