Movie Reviews of Nosferatu

Movie Review: The best horror movie of all time
Summary: 5 Stars

Nosferatu is, and will be, the best horror movie of all time. If it wasn't for this, there would be no "Excorist" or "Frankstein." The whole concept of vampires is amazing. This movie is so well made with good acting. I believe that the fact it is silent makes it even more terrfiring.

I read that some don't like it alot because of the music score. I don't think that should have a real bearing on the the film. It is a silent film, your lucky you even have some music!

All in all, this is one of my favorite film of all them. The character of Nasferatu still gives me chills when I see him.

Movie Review: Masterful Symphony
Summary: 5 Stars

Nosferatu is a cleverly photographed filmed, a cinematic masterpiece, but when set to the music that can be at times obnoxious (the Silent Orchestra or original score) it is yet more compelling and chilling. Could the scene of Count Orlok walking across the vessel be the greatest image in film? The audio essay and the bonus pre-production of art posters and sketches are really cool features. My only drawback with this edition is the tinting, which makes the film choppy. But the film is too important and composed with such craft that you kind of forget about it in the end.

Movie Review: Definitive Dracula flick
Summary: 5 Stars

Other reviews will assure you of the wondrousness of this movie - only one caveat, which is, don't watch this before you watch Coppola's 'Dracula', as it might completely ruin what is actually not a bad movie.

I saw this at a film festival years ago, on a double bill with the Coppola version, and it really puts Coppola in the shade - as though you couldn't guess. Not quite like watching the Gus Van Sant version of Psycho, but not far off.

Hope this is helpful. Enjoy the movie - though try and watch it on the big screen if you can.

Movie Review: Nosferatu - Special Edition DVD, film horror's greatest!
Summary: 5 Stars

Summary: Chilling Nosferatu is the first (popular one, at least)...and best...vampire film ever created. Terrific use of landscapes and dark castle corridors supported by great actors (the best being Max Schreck) sets an absolutely chilling feeling rushing through your veins!!!

Graf Orloc has a completely different look to him than the other blood suckers of the Bela Legosi and Peter Cushing era. A beautiful dance of fear and unconditional romance, this film is highly recommended to ALL fans of the horror genre.

Movie Review: The Mother of all Horror movies
Summary: 5 Stars

One of the great masterpieces of the silent era, this film has set standards for all gothic horror to come. Lighting, setting, the whole composition of images, everything is perfect. An avantgarde work, duly hommaged by Werner Herzog's later version with color and sound (one of the very few remakes that truly honor their origin). Compulsory viewing for horror fans who would like to know how it all began.
