Movie Reviews of Night of the DemonsMovie Review: Finally!! Summary: 5 Stars
I enjoy horror movies and this is one that I've rented at least once a year at the video stores. Finally Angela on DVD and in widescreen; it can't miss, and Anchor Bay does the transfer. For a fun horror romp, this movie is tops.It has all of the key elements that make a horror movie fun. Really looking forward to my copy. I hope Anchor Bay plans on reproducing the two sequels to this movie.A group of teens decide to party at an abandoned funeral parlor on the outskirts of town on Halloween night. It turns out to be the one night that the demons within the funeral parlor are free to roam. The demons are prevented from roaming any further than an underground stream that encompasses Hull House, the name of the funeral parlor. Of course some of the partying teens get possessed and the fun begins. This is classic teen horror fun at it's best.
Movie Review: Excellent for 80s Summary: 5 Stars
I remember watching this film when I was a 8 years kid, I was so terrified, I didn't want to go to the bath alone! You can't compare it with recent horrors films, BUT if you grew up watching killers and blood you'll remember this one forever. Now it is not scary, but don't tell me that when you saw it for the 1st time you felt a strange feeling in the room at night. It's great, it's wonderful to know that it has been released in DVD format. Now, you can buy it and keep it forever! You can not loose your chance to add it to your personal collection. it's even nostalgic for me. If you're looking for good special effects then buy something like The Hills have eyes or resident evil. I'm wondering if this release has subtitles...
Movie Review: This IS the Unrated version Summary: 5 Stars
Don't be fooled by what Amazon says here about this being rated R. I checked the Anchor Bay website and the ONLY DVD they're releasing of this movie (and on 8/24/04) is the UNRATED and completely UNCENSORED version. I couldn't be happier because my unrated VHS is really getting worn out, and it wasn't in the greatest of shape to begin with considering I found it at a hole-in-the-wall video store previously viewed. This DVD has lots of nice extras, too, with interviews and such. As usual, Anchor Bay comes through for us again! Also, keep in mind that they're releasing Witchboard (Unrated and Uncut) on the same day :)
Movie Review: Gorey, Goofy and Great! Summary: 5 Stars
This 80s B horror movie is a real treat and I was very happy to see it finally hit DVD. Some nice grisly deaths, fun FX, high camp, and groovy makeup tips have made this a Halloween tradition in my house. Well worth getting as it has something for everyone.
DVD has a fun promo spot and a even more fun interview with Linnea Quigley.
Just watched this again as part of my annual Halloween marathon and I really do LOVE this movie. It is a perfect example of the 80's horror film. The set-up from the very begining is entertaining and it's just pure spooky fun! Excellent!!!!
Movie Review: Perfect if you're looking for a scarefest Summary: 5 Stars
Just as Night of the Living Dead 3D made it into my worst movie list, Night of the Demons ranks as one of my favorites. It is campy and just a whole lot of fun. The make-up effects were awesome. Angela's look as a demon was creepy and I loved it! I've spent the last 38 years or so watching anything and everything horror related so when something actually has an effect on me, then in my book, it's good. I like this movie from start to finish, own it, in fact and will never tire of watching it. I highly recommend this one for any horror fan's collection.
