Movie Reviews of Night ShiftMovie Review: Endless quotes! A true classic! Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of those movies that is so well written and funny that you find yourself quoting the lines for years. Michael Keaton and Henry Winkler work great together in this unfortunately VERY under-rated film. But one of the best aspects about this movie is the fact that although you'd expect a great deal of gratuitous sex and nudity after reading the description, there is virtually no sex in this movie and the nudity is limited and almost non-existent. Ron Howard obviously devoted more energy to a plot and writing than he did to cheap sex and nudity; a smart move. I recently bought one of those hand-held mini-recorders for all the ideas I have floating in my head. The first thing I said into it to test it? Naturally, it was: "Hello, this is Chuck, to remind Bill to SHUT UP!"
Movie Review: One of the best comedies of the 80's. Summary: 5 Stars
Back in the 80's they still knew how to make good comedies (and movies in general) and this is one of the best made that decade. (Followed closely by: "Stir Crazy", "Nine To Five", "Hanky Panky", "Tootsie" and "Ghostbusters".) The acting is wonderful, the music is good, and the story is funny and moving. Winkler and Keaton are perfect, and I'm actually glad there never was a sequel because there's no way to top this fine film. -And it's letterboxed at last. A commentary track on this otherwise nice looking DVD would've been hilarious and a great idea; how about it, Warner ?.
Movie Review: Need Help Spotting Costner Summary: 5 Stars
First of all, I need to say that this movie is a classic. It's got everything you could want from a plot like it has. Winkler and Keaton are fantastic in their roles. The music is great and just overall a good movie to check out. Now I know people tell me Costner is in the morgue frat party scene but I can't seem to find him. Could someone tell me what part exactly to look at. I didn't think it would be that difficult to spot him but he must only be in the movie for a few seconds. Anyway, if someone could let us know that would be great. So, if you're looking for a classic comedy and havn't seen this, I recommened it.
Movie Review: Young Michael Keaton! WOW! Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen and a keeper. Michael Keaton's "Billy Blaze", a ne'er-do-well entrepreneur, is hilarious and his antics are fast-paced and manic ("Note to self: CALL STARKIST"). Henry Winkler's metamorphosis from Superwimp into Superman is a relief ("YOU'RE GONNA PLAY TENNIS WITH GOD!") Shelley Long's portrayal of a hooker is great. Cameo includes Clint Howard (Ron Howard's brother) as a dorky high-school kid looking for a prom-night ride for him and his girl in a limo, ANY limo, even the City Morgue's hearse! See it with someone you can laugh with until your sides hurt.
Movie Review: Excellent DVD version of an all-time classic! Summary: 5 Stars
How can you go wrong with a Ron Howard directed movie? Well, maybe there is a slight possibility, but not with this cast. This is an enormously funny movie with links to Neil Simon and his inimitable, uncanny nack for brining together unlikely characters in all too likely and believable situations. Michael Keaton used this movie as a spring-board, but Henry Winkler (although hilarious in this role) kind of faded away quietly. Shelley Long is terrific, as are the myriad of extras. A definite addition to your collection!
