Movie Reviews of Night PassageMovie Review: Oh you can't get far without a railroad! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this movie! It's by far my favorite James Stewart western and up there with favorite Stewart film period. The plot is simple, which it usually is in most great westerns. Stewart plays an accordion playing drifter who seeks work at a former employer due to his love for the railroad. He forms a SHANE like bond with the kid from Shane. It also has the perfect equation of action and speaking scenes. Also it's very eye stimulating with it's scenic backgrounds. Never a dull moment and it's got Stewart singing also! BRAVO!
Movie Review: Highly Underrated!! Summary: 5 Stars
Night Passage has always been plagued by the fact that Anthony Mann pulled out of the production. That shouldn't be considered. All in all one of the best Westerns of the Fifties. Night Passage has everything a western should have: A hero down on his luck,(Stewart), a wayward brother,(Murphy), and a villain that has a screw loose, (Duryea). Throw in train robberies, girl friends, characters, and the scenery and "Night Passage" is actually the perfect western. Oh yeah, don't forget the terrific performance by Brandon de Wilde.
Movie Review: One of the hidden westerns gems! Summary: 5 Stars
Cain and Abel once more work out for this western. Stewart works for the railroad and his brother belongs to a gang which is planning to rob train payroll. This story turns around the ancestral myth of two brothers who live exactly opposite proposals. Stewart made a credible role and Audie Murpphy is unforgettable too with this plot. Believe or not this western - to me - has been underestimated, but it well deserves for you a sight. May be you 'll be surprised. The climax is superb and towering.
Movie Review: great entertainment from a great era Summary: 5 Stars
i'm an addict to the older movies, and not so much of a stick that i can't appreciate some of the newer flicks as well, but prefer these old time classics to the later. great movies by great entertainers,
producers, and directors. recommended viewing for all.
Movie Review: Night Passage review Summary: 5 Stars
I really enjoyed this movie. I am a big westerns fan, and whenever you can get a good story and more than one big name actors in the cast it just makes for a great movie. Iwatched it several times.
