Movie Review: As a girl from Russia i can say - it's great movie about my country
Summary: 5 Stars
I enjoied this film. I think Russian Revolution is a big step in Russia's history, it is a progress. In this film i can see not only king's family but even Lenin is a leader of revolution. Besides that there are very good lines of Rasputin and king's son illness. We can see the reason of king's reign, why he did this or that.Movie Review: The most historically correct retelling of the dynasty's last days.

This beautifully filmed and expertly acted retelling of the czar's final days in pre-revolutionary Russia is the best in its class. This film would be an excellent two-part introduction to the emergence of communism if paired with the equally brilliant "Dr. Zhivago."
It would be a great 4-5 hour tour de force. whf.

Since this was put out so long before DNA and history have managed to merge with new theories, this is truly a timeless movie. I love this era and found this movie to be the best there is to date of the life of these two people and the tragic story they wove. Michael Jayston was wonderful in this film. I love all his work and thought that he gave a heart rending and excellent performance. He is up at the top with the best actors of all time. I think that this movie was the best movie i have ever seen it was GREAT!!! i saw the pics. of the real Czar and his wife and the people playing the roles looks so much like them . i think that anyone would like this movie (even if they didn't like history)
